The Ultimate Purpose of Life
“This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every work into judgment, with every hidden thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.” (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 WEB)
The person who wrote the Book of Ecclesiastes is the richest and wisest mortal man in history: King Solomon.
After sharing all his wisdom, his conclusion is this: our whole duty is to fear God (worship Him with reverential awe) and keep His commandments (to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to love one another as Christ loved us).
“Jesus said these things, and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may also glorify you; even as you gave him authority over all flesh, he will give eternal life to all whom you have given him. This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” (John 17:1-3 WEB)
If you have been wondering, this is the purpose for which we were born: to know Abba God and Jesus Christ.
Not just in the mind, but to know God experientially, intuitively, and eventually face-to-face.
There will be a time of judgment in the future, but for a believer, there is no sentence of condemnation because our evil works have already been judged in Jesus’ body at the cross. He endured the fiery wrath of God on our behalf.
All that is left for us is to receive the rewards for both open and hidden good works done for Christ.
If you live your life keeping the Grace commandments—basically a life of leaning on God’s love and sharing that love with others, you will be greatly rewarded when it is time to stand before Jesus’ throne.
Wait, what? We get spared for all the evil deeds that we do and get rewarded for all the good works done by using the grace that God first gave to us? Yes, it sounds way too good to be true, but it is the truth.
Most believers have no idea what God’s rewards are. They know of blessings, but when it comes to rewards, it is hardly taught about. The common misconception is to mix up blessings and rewards—but these two are different.
Blessings were paid for by Jesus’ blood at the cross, and God has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Heaven. On the other hand, rewards are still with Jesus in Heaven. He said that His reward is with Him—we will only receive them after He comes again.
““Behold, I come quickly. My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work.” (Revelation 22:12 WEB)

God Inside You
“Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB)
Take a moment now to close your eyes and place a hand on your chest to feel the heart beating.
Be conscious of how this mortal body is the house of the omnipotent, omnipresent Holy Spirit.
Somewhere inside you, the Spirit of God sits enthroned, and His life-giving power flows inside you like mighty rivers.
“Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink! He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water.” But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus wasn’t yet glorified.” (John 7:37-39 WEB)
In the past, men and women had to go the well to draw water for drinking.
There is a thirst for natural water, but the spirit also thirsts for God.
We were all created with a longing for eternity in our hearts.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 WEB)
What we actually desire is eternal life, with the quality of life that God Himself lives by: total shalom peace. Just that many people cannot put a description to that deep longing they feel inside.
“Being asked by the Pharisees when God’s Kingdom would come, he answered them, “God’s Kingdom doesn’t come with observation; neither will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ for behold, God’s Kingdom is within you.”” (Luke 17:20-21 WEB)
While man builds his kingdom with buildings and structures made of stones, metals, wood, and inanimate things, God builds His kingdom in His people.
Each believer is a living stone that makes up the ever-growing temple of God that rises to Heaven.
So much power, wisdom, and life is flowing inside your spirit. Read God’s word to know and believe what belongs to you in Christ. Just reach in and draw some out in Jesus’ name. Let the power that raised Jesus from the dead also affect your body and every part of your life!

God Has Good Plans for your Life
“A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9 WEB)
People like to plan out their lives, and even assume about things decades from the current time.
However, in the verse above, we see that while man plans his course (a trajectory of days, months, and years ahead), the Lord directs his steps, which implies a much shorter timeframe—like a day by day pace.
The truth is, we do not even know what will happen to us a few minutes from now. We can only live one step at a time.
God’s word is a lamp to our feet, showing us the immediate way ahead, but not the whole road.
In this mortal lifetime, there will always be a need for faith.
As Jesus said, each day has enough worries of its own. You were not made to live in stress over your future.
As a child of God, you have a Heavenly Father who loves you. He feeds the birds of the air, and not one of them falls to the ground without His knowledge. He even numbers the hairs on your head.
The God who personally knows all the stars by name, is also concerned when you are heartbroken. So much power and responsibility, and yet He does not dismiss the trivial details in our lives.
Life never turns out exactly as we think it will, but we can trust that all the things that happen to us will work together for good. God makes everything beautiful in its time, and that includes your life!
“God’s Appointed Time” is about His system of times and seasons—the method by which He plans every purpose under Heaven. Flow with God’s way of doing things and you will enjoy restful increase and be like a tree that produces good fruits in its season: https://bit.ly/god-appointed-time
