Tears rolled own my cheeks as I listened to
the first chapter of “The Last Arrow” audiobook
on my flight to Beijing.

I can’t remember the last time I
stopped running in life.
2 decades and counting.
20 to 24hr work days, 101 things on my to-do list
& a mountain of dreams to climb.

“You should be enjoying your youth
instead of working so hard.”
“Slow down.”
“Take it easy.”
“Find the balance.”
“Just find a man that can look after you.”

Common advice from people who
loved & cared so much.
With the best intentions, they just
didn’t want to see me suffer in silence.
I, on the other hand, was never articulate enough
to give them a justified answer to ease their worries.

So I just kept running.
Yet in pursing life, we often the encounter the
character-building chapters which I like to call
SPEED HUMPS.
-
It slows us down with 3 basic choices:
Give up, give in, or give it all we’ve got.
-
It takes a lot of effort to overcome them
but if we look at the bigger picture,
encountering speed humps just reminds us
that we are entering a new season
& that breakthrough is on its way.

So if you’re at a speed hump right now,
I want to encourage you to
be the person refused to settle,
refused to give up,
& who just won’t quit.
