有心理學家說過,當異性願意跟自己share一杯雪糕,是吉兆,不單止代表對方有好感,就連之後表白成功率也會大增,不過食雪糕,最重要還是兩個字:好味。
想講,以後在中環食完lunch,唔一定routine去買杯咖啡,去買兩球ice cream仲過癮,話說中環Landmark近排開咗間雪糕店,就連李嘉誠都讚好。
是的,每次李嘉誠私人投資旗艦維港投資(Horizons Ventures)有「新玩具」,我總會不問價入手,不論美股股票,抑或是實實在在的產品,只要afford到, 基本上我也會入手,去了解李嘉誠、周凱旋眼中的未來。
近日這間VC又有新搞作,為香港小店 Ice Age! 穿針引線,搭上 Perfect Day,推出全亞洲首款創新「愛牛」雪糕Ice Age!,喺中環Landmark(置地廣場)開辦Pop-up 實體店,位置喺Landmark Cafe 隔離,在中庭呼喚愛。
這款雪糕店不單止好味,話題性十足,標謗「非牛之奶,乃是奶」 ,英文係Dairy... but no cows,用microflora + 發酵技術提煉出「無動物性乳清蛋白(animal free whey protein)」,以科技減少對環境的負擔,同時亦能保留奶滑質感和滋味。
咁多款味道之中,聽聞李嘉誠最鍾意食嘅係 Ice Age! x TRU NIAGEN® 破天荒合作推出的香港首個含保健配方嘅非動物性乳製品雪糕。(超市先有)
我自己就比較鍾意抹茶忌廉曲奇、楊枝甘露味,因為自小就對這些味道有情意結;同埋喺Little Bao先有得食、由亞洲最佳女廚May Chow特製嘅「彩虹忌廉味」雪糕(幫襯會捐錢畀Pink Alliance)。
經過一些秋與冬,香港這個夏天實在特別納悶,要填補心靈空虛,不免飲飲食食,但牽涉到吃肉、喝奶,又會肥,又傷害環境,罪孽深重。
現在有了best alternative,而且位於prime location,約女神食雪糕,以後睇落無咁低B,試着說「不如一齊贖罪」,進可攻退可守。

The texture of the sponge cake is sightly chewy like Mochi. Actually, this homemade roll cake is better than the one sold at "conbini". Hehe

Mochi Roll Cake
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 1hr
Number of servings: 6-8 pieces
Necessary Equipment:
26cm (10.2inch) frying pan
Ingredients:
((Sponge Cake))
2 eggs
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
4 tbsp. rice flour
2 tbsp. soy milk or milk
((Filling))
200ml whipping cream *use soy whip for dairy-free
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
Directions:
((Sponge Cake))
1. Put the eggs and granulated sugar in a bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until white and fluffy.
2. Add rice flour and mix until combined. Then mix in soy milk to smooth out the texture.
3. Place paper towels in a frying pan. Add some water to wet. Then place a sheet of parchment paper. Pour in the batter, cover, then cook on low for 7 minutes. When the surface becomes dry, remove from the pan, cover with plastic wrap, and cool completely.
((Filling))
1.Combine whipping cream and granulated sugar in a dry clean bowl. Float the bottom of the bowl in ice water, then whisk the cream until it forms a soft peak.
2. Spread some whipped cream in the middle of the sponge cake.
3. Roll up the cake and cool in the fridge for over 30 min to set.
4. Cut off both ends and cut into 6 pieces.
* Place the cake in the fridge for a few hours ~ a day. The cream will set and you can cut the cake easily. Eat within the next day.
