［ASML Recruiting］ IC Design Engineer

The job is located in Hsinchu/Tainan that could work on the advanced analog and mixed signal ASIC for next generation electron detection channel for the leading edge e-beam inspection and metrology systems with work life balance.

The following are the Job Descriptions for this opportunity
• Develop the functional blocks of high-speed Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) and/or Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) in ASIC for the detection channel of electron beam inspection tools, including:
• Define the design specifications of the Read-Out Integrated Chip (ROIC) or chipset based on product roadmap and System Performance Specifications (SPS) defined by system engineer.
• Develop new circuit architecture and technical solutions for next generation ASICs in detection channel, including feasibility study, schematic design, pre-layout simulation, layout design, and post-layout simulation.
• Cooperate with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designer to design Evaluation Board (EVB) and with test engineer to test and characterize the ASICs.
• Create Element Design Specifications (EDS) and Test Performance Specifications (TPS) based on detail ASIC design and chip test/verification.
• Cooperate with IC design partner to develop the ASICs for detection channel of of electron beam inspection tools, including:
• Review the detail schematic and layout design, TPS, and test results from our partner during the ASIC industrialization phase.
• Together with the engineering team from the partners, identify design solutions to achieve the specifications of the module/function. Review the design details and simulation results from our partner.
• Support module level and sub-system level integration
• Generate and / or review related IP documents

《我，和吉他的淵源》之七

接下來的，是一場人類歷史上最大的一個音樂革命：一場樂器的革命。

有時候，仔細的，我再想一想：到底這樣的革命，對於我，是好或是不好？

這樣的革命，對於 音樂來說，是好還是不好？
或是說，這樣的革命，對於人類是好，還是不好？

那就是鍵盤樂器數位音樂的普及化。
其實，數位音樂在 1970年代，與美國就已經開始了。有一些樂器製造廠就已經開始研究如何用電子合成(Synthesis)、數位演算(Algorism)，或是取樣(Sampling), 來製造鍵盤樂器的發聲，比如Moog、Oberheim、Fairlight、Synclaviar ......等公司。但是在當時七零年代，因為技術還不成熟，市場還沒成型，技術和相關數位產業也還在早期發展，所以除了售價極為昂貴以外，體積都過於龐大，不方便運送與 普及價錢的銷售。一直沒有大量流行。但是，在八零年初，有一些日本的廠牌打破了這個限制。

先是 YAMAHA 在 1983年發表了 DX-7 ，這個樂器打破傳統我們所用的樂器聲，用Frequency Modulation（FM，音頻調校）在數位線型上使用不同的演算，來發展出各種不一樣的聲音的電子發聲法。

DX-7 發表後，因為不但售價低，體積輕盈易於搬運，而且它真的有非常多的聲音，是我們前所未聽過的，非常好用；舉例來說，一般我們用電鋼琴的聲音，大家幾乎都是用 Fender Rhode 的聲音（有點像是 Vibrophone 震音琴），但是 DX-7把電鋼琴的聲音發展到幾乎是無限大，簡直超乎人的想像～～我自己到後來就收集並改造了而且擁有了一個很大的電鋼琴音庫（大多數的電子數位鍵盤樂器 都會有使用者 修改聲音的功能）。

比如我寫的那首「你的樣子」，前奏的電鋼琴聲，就是從我自己的 改造數碼電鋼琴聲裡面找出彈出來的。

這個，就是後來所謂的 MIDI： Music instrument Digital Interface .這說法太抽象了，他們鍵盤樂器們，可每一個都有個名字呢！

譬如說，我所接觸和認識到的，介紹一下。如下，這些電子數位「名琴榜」是（這裡的琴，就是鍵盤樂器了）：

Roland Jupiter-8 (天哪！我幾乎忘了這個，發表當時好厲害！）

YAMAHA DX-7；（從 1983年起，改變所有鍵盤手的一台琴）
YAMAHA TX-816 （等於是八部的 DX-7一起彈）；
Roland Juno-106.（早期電子進階版）；
Roland 的 MC-500 （這是一部 數碼錄音機，用來編曲）；
Roland 的 D-50 ；（聲音好厚！）；
Korg 的 M-1；（要什麼聲音，就有什麼聲音！）；
Alexis DM-5, Drum machine (好多的打擊樂器～）；
Hohnet 的 Clavinet (聲音堅硬的像可以震碎玻璃的刀切的音色）；
Emulator 的 Emulator II+HD （「戀曲1990」的前奏有個碎石金屬的聲音，就來自它；取樣機的代表作）；

Moog 的 Minimoog （美國牌子，要特別訂才搞得到）
Sequencial Circuit 的 Prophet -5 (美國貨！好聽。初期覺得珍稀貨貴，後來聽多了，覺得賣得......有點不值得那價錢！）
Roland 的 TR-808 鼓機 （經典電鼓聲～）；
Roland JD-800 （這琴上面有我最喜歡的一個鋼琴聲音～）；
YAMAHA CS-30 （我真的很難考慮那一台重達 100公斤的 CS-80～）；
Kong 的 Wavestation （在香港時常常用它來做電影配樂～） ；

一直下去，一直下去，
一直發明，一直發明............
電子、電子、電子、電子.............
數位、數位、數位、數位.............

一直到, 我們都忘了，有些其實, 也錄過音的 , 很重要的樂器們， 的名字； 它來自哪裡........還有，最後它究竟去了何方。

這樣。

以上所有的琴，全部我都彈過，而且大部分我都擁有過（我跟你說過我曾經毫無懸念的認為自己是一個鍵盤樂器手）。那一段時間我正好在香港，每年大量的電影配樂，都是和 最早期泰迪羅賓、Richard、還有後來和我一起工作拍檔最久的 花比傲（Fabio Carli）就這麼兩、三個人，十幾台鍵盤樂器的搞定了整部、整部電影的配樂。 香港電影配樂當然有時候需要主題曲，那麼電影主題曲也一起寫了吧。 有統計說八零年以後我寫過的中文電影主題曲流行的數量，記錄好像還沒被打破。

那也是一個時代，開始自七零年末 ，八零年初的Disco（迪斯可）音樂開始大流行以後，帶動了人類的走路（記得1970 年末 約翰特拉佛塔 主演的「週末狂歡」片頭，他邁開大步，勇往直前的走路的腳步大特寫的鏡頭嗎？），還有人類的跳舞 和動作、行為舉止等，在這樣的大量、大量的迪斯可節奏的洗禮、洗耳，與，洗腦以後.....................
~~人類的思考、行動、想法、群聚，就慢慢的，但是有效率的，開始規格化，精確化了。

上述的這些樂器的被發明，就是來自於這樣的一種趨勢，它們加入了時代的腳步，各個捲入了八零年代以後的電子數位與 原樣模擬 的世紀大戰之中。

大戰還沒有結局前，我們就發現，生活裡面慢慢多了一樣東西，無法阻擋，越來越多；

越來越多...........甚至在錄音室裡面也越來越多!
那個東西啊叫做：個人電腦。

所以，那個世紀大戰是由誰戰勝的，已經不需要判斷或是公佈了；說了沒趣。

很殘酷的是，對於音樂人而言，從1985 到 1995 這短短的十年 數位樂器 伏地魔式而起的期間，全世界保守估計應該有百分之七十以上的音樂家，失業了。

這個樂器革命帶來的成果，就變成了這樣。

還記得在1995 年的夏季某一天，週末；我一個人在自己開的那一間 灣仔告士打道生和大廈的二樓大錄音室裡面發愣。 四周佈滿了 SSL 的錄音軌道、桌外格式機、五六個鍵盤樂器、當然還有 電腦內的錄音軟體 Digital Performer . 我相信這已經是當時最高規格的一間錄音室了，外面是 維多利亞港口，從香港要去九龍的中環隧道的入口就在我們樓下過街處。我擁有無限可能的音樂聲道、聲音，還有節奏；按一個鈕，任何聲音都會響出來。

但是我腦筋裡一片空白，這樣的度過了一整天。

是在那一天與那一間「唐樓」錄音室的風華全盛時期，我心裡面的那一個鍵盤樂器手，悄悄的，離開我走掉了。

這就是那個背叛了的，樂器手，的那一段淵源。

ก่อนที่จะมีการเปิดตัวในเมืองไทยอย่างเป็นทางการ ในอีกไม่กี่วันข้างหน้า เราขอพามาชมสายการผลิต Audi e-Tron GT รถสปอร์ตซีดานหรูพลังงานไฟฟ้า จากตระกูล e-Tron ซึ่งในต่างประเทศเพิ่งมีการเปิดตัวในวันที่ 9 กุมภาพันธ์ที่ผ่านมา โดยทำตลาดใน 2 รุ่นด้วยกันคือรุ่น e-Tron GT quattro และรุ่น RS e-tron GT

With an energized driving demonstration and a world premiere featuring high-caliber participants, Audi has presented its new electric spearhead – the Audi e-tron GT. In two events on the digital Day of Progress, the Four Rings showcased the highlights of this fully electric Gran Turismo: dynamic driving performance, emotional design, and sustainability.

“The e-tron GT is a stand-alone Gran Turismo, reinterpreted for the future. Its looks are a testament to premium automotive design.Bringing impressive driving performance, this is electro-mobility in the most emotive way. And with its sustainable concept, it takes a stand,” explains Markus Duesmann, CEO of AUDI AG. “Because it’s not just the drive concept that is sustainable. The entire production at our Böllinger Höfe site now has a carbon neutral energy balance.This sends an important signal – for the site, our workforce and the future viability of Audi.”

Audi also set a new benchmark with the digital world premiere, the Day of Progress. Two digital events presented the Audi e-tron GT: in the Sprint of Progress, the Formula E driver Lucas di Grassi and the sustainability entrepreneur and Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg demonstrated the dynamic driving performance of the Audi RS e-tron GT alongside the current Formula E racing car of the Four Rings, the Audi e-tron FE07. In a trip on the circuit of the Audi Driving Experience Center in Neuburg an der Donau, the spotlight was on the dynamic performance of the new model.

In the Celebration of Progress, the brand with the Four Rings introduced the Audi e-tron GT to the public for the first time. In the hour-long virtual show, Markus Duesmann and Hildegard Wortmann, Board Member for Sales and Marketing, together with further Audi protagonists such as Henrik Wenders, Senior Vice President for the Audi Brand, and Marc Lichte, Head of Design, presented the highlights of the new model.

A varied program emphasized the forward-looking attitude of the Four Rings brand. With reference to the importance of design, sustainability and performance, the actor and producer Tom Hardy, the designer Stella McCartney and Nico Rosberg added their personal insights. Themusical accompaniment to the unveiling of the car was performed by the US-American singer and songwriter Janelle Monáe, while Steven Gätjen as moderator guided the audience through the show.

The GREENTECH FESTIVAL and Audi, a founding partner of this platform for sustainability, together presented the GREEN FUTURE Award for the first time as part of the world premiere of the Audi e-tron GT. The prize, part of the festival’s GREEN AWARDS, is given to projects and persons that promote environmentally compatible urbanization and at the same time make an important contribution to improving the quality of life in urban infrastructure. The winner is the start-up Zencity, based in Tel Aviv, with an algorithm that collects and analyzes social media posts and local news from cities.
