Using genomic sequencing, a research team at the University of Hong Kong has claimed the first lab-tested evidence of someone being reinfected with the virus that causes COVID-19.

Ivan Hung, who is part of the HKU Med team behind the study, tells me: "This virus is very smart, it keeps on mutating. So that means even though you recovered from a natural infection you still need vaccination, need a mask, and keep your social distancing."

He adds that an *annual* vaccine may be needed.

- Not nearly as deadly as the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic
- But not as mild as the 2009 Flu H1N1 pandemic
