God Always Listens to You
“So they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, “Father, I thank you that you listened to me. I know that you always listen to me, but because of the multitude that stands around I said this, that they may believe that you sent me.”” (John 11:41-42 WEB)
When Jesus walked on earth, Jesus always had unbroken fellowship with God the Father. The Father spoke to Him, and He prayed to the Father.
However, at the cross, when Jesus was carrying all our sins upon His flesh, the Father turned away from Jesus because His eyes are too pure to look upon evil (Habakkuk 1:13). For the first time in forever, Jesus cried out and no one responded.
“At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is, being interpreted, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”” (Mark 15:34 WEB)
At the cross, Jesus could only cry out “My God” instead of “MyFather” because He had been separated from the Father due to the sins that He bore.
Jesus endured this alienation so that we could enjoy restored relationship with the Father. Our sins have been punished in Jesus’ flesh, and through faith in Him, we have been cleansed whiter than snow.
Now, we can cry out “Abba, Father” because we have received Jesus’ righteousness as our own.
Every day as you go about daily life, be conscious that you have unbroken fellowship with the living God. Whenever you encounter a need, you can receive the supply from Him. When you need wisdom, ask for it—He will supply it generously without rebuking you. When you need favor with others, confess it because He already given you every blessing. Your heavenly Father hears every prayer that comes from you and He loves it when you seek Him!
Instead of speaking to yourself or with your friends only, the first person to run to should be God who loves you. Whether you speak to Abba God or Jesus, it doesn’t matter. They are one and you will still receive the supply from the same source!
