The last time I was in London in 2017, I chanced upon Harry Potter & The Cursed Child, but was too late to get tickets.

This time, I made sure we got them before arriving - and boy was it worth it. 5 hours split into 2 shows, crazy amount of production, sleight of hand, mind-boggling tricks, awesome use of the stage and props, and the fabulous acting by the whole cast really transports one into the world of Hogwarts and beyond.

Definitely, 10/10, a MUST-watch! :) I hope they bring this to Singapore!

[City of London 倫敦冷知識] 圖一,倒立的小朋友用棍子敲打水面？！ 這難道是Harry Potter 的暗黑魔法🤨？

這是一個依舊保存的百年傳統儀式叫Beating 的Bounds.（敲打土地領域儀式）

古代的教堂跟教堂之間界限模糊,有時牧師為了多幾畝田加蓋,會偷偷的移動領土分界線. 別看現代教堂這麼溫和,以前教堂跟教堂間真的會為了捍衛土地大打出手.

因此教堂為了要每個小朋友都記得自己教堂的領土,每年5月10號會把小朋友帶到領地的,東,南,西,北,的邊界,用“木條抽打小朋友屁股”😲, 對, 你沒聽錯,定期“抽打”📏小朋友屁股 ,所以小朋友這輩子都記得自己的土地🏝️( 土地意識真讓人抬頭啊）

但好消息是! 現在儀式簡化,老屁股決定不打小屁股🤣, 小朋友只要用手拿木棍敲打領地（如圖二）即可. 勘稱倫敦最老的教堂 All Hallows by the Tower （就在倫敦塔旁邊） 每隔兩年舉辦一這儀式，照片中小學小朋友被船帶到泰魯士河 ,被牧師倒抱著,用棍子敲打河面宣誓領域 ( 為什麼在河面? 因為教堂領域包含部份的泰魯士河面）. 可說是倫敦當地人超期特的怪誕地方儀式,古代時可能哭哭啼啼,但現在已經是合家歡樂ㄧ起參與的儀式活動. （其實各地教堂也可能都有這儀式,可以問問離你最近的教堂還有沒有這個儀式）

A day or two before our trip to London, Tim spontaneously told me that we are headed off to London. It took me by surprise because I couldn't think what the occasion it was for but nonetheless, I went with it. My sister in law bought us a fine dining experience at a restaurant called Petrus so I figured it was for that. He knew I'd been feeling a bit run down lately so thought a mini trip away would lift my spirits. We woke up around 4.30am to catch our flight as we had to be out of the house by 5am. I was of course looking like an armpit for the entire day not expecting much but had no idea that Tim had gotten tickets to see the Harry Potter & The Cursed Child play!!! I had been itching to watch this show since the day it was released but knew how difficult it was to get tickets. I was so touched that for the first time in a while, I cried happy tears. The show was a lot longer than I expected but definitely worth it. We LOVED it. Thank you for such an amazing time in London again, Bubba!!! We're so focused on Isaac these days and honestly, being able to completely focus on each other for those 2-3 days was just so nice. LOVE YOU!!

Oh another thing, I had no idea that Tim's occupation was such a mystery to you guys lol.
