VOGUE Taiwan’s first historic NFT depicting a scene of hope amidst the pandemic

Since the cover received attention from many after its release, and since nothing is philosophically and aesthetically impossible to rethink in the era in which every moment is uploaded on the Internet, the plan of minting this cover as an NFT was also initiated later in July. After intense discussion with VOGUE Taiwan and process tuning with VOGUE’s international headquarters, the NFT was lately minted and will be officially listed in late September.

Owing to its digital characteristics, the NFT will be presented in subtle 2D animation, creating a distinction from the still image on the paper cover.

Ah! So this is how the Electoral College works! AIT Political Deputy Chief Mark Rosenshield spent time with 28 Law students at the beautiful National Taipei University campus in Xansia. Mark and the students exchanged opinions on a wide range of topics including a discussion on the U.S. Constitution, the intense relationship between China and the U.S., the upcoming U.S. Presidential election, and even how COVID-19 has affected American society. Participants shared their ideas on international affairs and it was awesome to learn that Taiwan’s youth cares deeply about these issues! I wanted to upload a little vlog today to demonstrate my level of Spanish after ~4 months of studying during quarantine. Roughly 1 month was super intense, 6-7+ hours of studying per day. Apart from this I’ve been studying for about 1 hour per day, apart from weekends. My main method of studying has been one-on-one tutoring, essentially just LOTS of talking. Initially, I did do a bunch of essentially grammatical learning, but IN SPANISH and always paired with lots of discussion and examples.

But you also don’t have to learn Spanish through Baselang or any particular program or school — the idea is to massively expose yourself to basic conversations until you get better. It’s way easier to learn Spanish like this than to learn, say, Chinese, because with Spanish there’s so much stuff that as an English speaker you can already understand!

Learning Spanish through Stories?
The course I used initially to give me a good foundation in Spanish was called “Spanish Uncovered” by the polyglot Olly Richards, which is a way to learn Spanish naturally through stories. With each passing day, debates pitting LeBron James against Michael Jordan get a little more intense. These arguments usually exist to try and determine which player is the best of all time, and while guys like Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar get plenty of praise, the discussion usually involves James and Jordan.

Allen Iverson isn’t really a fan of the argument being framed this way. It’s not because he doesn’t think they’re two of the best to ever play, but rather, Iverson thinks that debating Jordan vs. James means Kobe Bryant isn’t getting the respect he deserves.

“What bothers me is when they do talk about it, LeBron is great, first of all,” Iverson said. “When they talk about comparing him to Mike, I don’t understand how they don’t have the debate when it comes to Kobe. I don’t get it. What, you forgot or something?

“I really think they forgot,” Iverson continued. “I really think they forgot the Mamba, man. Certified serial killer, man.”

Iverson and Bryant had some tremendous battles back in the day — the pair were fantastic against one another in the 2001 NBA Finals, both guys were faces of the league during the years after Jordan retired, and Bryant has admitted that he studied Iverson’s game back in the day. There’s plenty of respect between the two, and Iverson put it on display with his insistence that Bryant gets included when discussing the best to ever take the floor.
