The Hong Kong government spent at least HK$84 million (US$10.8 million) hiring U.S. firms to lobby against the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act, opposing the negative U.S. policies against Hong Kong and officials.

The Act was passed in November 2019.

【Startup Adventure】Happy 3rd Anniversary to Social Innovation Lab!

It has been three years since the former Air Force Commander Headquarter renovated into Social Innovation Lab on October 2017. Partners from businesses, government, and social innovation organizations gathered together at the lobby of Social Innovation Lab(SIL) to celebrate the successes.

Audrey TANG, the Digital minister, Ho, Chin-Tsang, the Director General of Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and Patrick Boland, Economic Officer of the American Institute in Taiwan, extended congratulations to SIL’s third anniversary via recorded video speeches!

For those who are interested to propose a plan or working on their business model and be selected to the 2021 social innovation team at SIL, an RFP workshop designed to help them went through the planning process. Folks can learn how to prepare their proposals for pitching and legal consultation for startups is also provided over a seminar session.
