During the epidemic, we are now facing the changes, and it also has bad impact on our qualities of our lives.
These difficulties relating to our lives hasn’t been over yet, and the unknown challenges still lie ahead of us.
However, we’ve seen too many heart touching things happening around us.
There are so many people willing to give hands to others in this crazy times.
The kindness was brought to this world by them, and we expect the warmth will be delivered from one to another.
“Play our part. Whoever needs help, be part of it.”
This time, Taiwan, as the center of the world, we get everyone’s hopes up with this song in order to make our hearts closer that they’ve never been.
We are sincerely thankful to all the medical workers and every single person who fights against the COVID-19 and vows to defend our Formosa.
Especially, we appreciate the help from Japan.
Thanks for being a kind and helpful neighbor when we are in need, and we will keep supporting each other as we’ve always done.
Thanks to everyone sparing no effort for this society.
Be the best guardians of each other.
Get through all the tasks with positive attitude.
Thank Japan once again for donating the vaccines, as well for other countries’ cooperation and assistance. We surely make people’s health always come first.

Happy Birthday Kobe.
Story time.
For almost a decade Kobe would come to Asia as part of his summer tour. We would hit up different cities and have huge events. There would be practices with games, prizes, sometimes a DJ, and we envisioned the televised events to be a little more light hearted. We couldn’t have been more wrong because we learned very early that the moment Kobe steps onto a basketball court, you have entered his place of worship. Practice is all business and the goal EVERYTIME is to improve, no time for games. Biz-nis!
This one time we held an open workout with very skilled players. It was in a large gym with maybe 2000 spectators. Nike had 3-4 coaches running the clinic and Kobe wasn’t even coaching, just observing. The drill that the kids were running was a feed into the post. A 180 pivot to face the basket, a pump fake, and then a fallaway jumper. If u a Kobe fan, u have seen him do this a 1000x. This young man takes his turn, does the move, misses the shot and begins to trot to the back of the line. Then came the Mamba moment, I remember it like yesterday. With no mic, Kobe hollers “STOP!” and the whole gym goes silent. He tells the kid to do it again and the young man repeats and misses the shot. Embarrassed. All eyes on the kid. Do it again Kobe says. Kid does the move and misses. Nervous. Again! The player spins, pump fakes, fallaway, splash, nothing but net. Everyone applauds and the kid smiles big. Kobe straight faced says, do it AGAIN off the right foot. And again off the left foot and then again off the right. The kid must’ve done the same move at least 5 times on each side with the crowd watching in anxiety and all the other players just standing. He’s definitely embarrassed and the crowd is embarrassed for him. But time stands still. The whole time Kobe is teaching this kid calmly, never yelling, and I can hear clearly so I translate for the crowd. He’s telling the kid about spin speed and the angle his foot should be at upon release. He’s teaching the kid the best angle to fallaway and to feel the opponent’s body pressure. He’s dissecting it down like science and we just stand there while this kid does it another 10 times. Again and again and again, it goes on for minutes. Whether the shot went in wasn’t the focus, the perfect movement was. Everyone is stunned at the detail and meticulousness that Kobe is exhibiting to teach his signature move. Kobe then says that if u can feel the side ur opponent is playing u on, and if u can make a perfect fake, and if u can spin at the right speed, and your fallaway angle is perfect, NO ONE can defend this shot. You can only make or miss it, but no one can stop you, so it’s all on YOU. He puts his arm around the young man and says good job.
Teaching. Coaching. Mentoring.
I have tears in my eyes as do half the crowd. Everyone erupts in respect and appreciation for a man who loves and has perfected his craft. Standing ovation.

Closing a chapter.
.
Every athlete arrives at this certain but reluctant reality eventually, and I’m no different. After 17 years of competitive athletics (13 of which repping Singapore), I think it’s time to take a step back.
.
I’ll take with me a lifetime’s worth of highs and lows, and will forever take heart in the fact that I was able to do my bit to help raise the bar in Singapore athletics. I’ll also feel proud of myself for pushing through, no matter how many times circumstances made it easier to just call it quits there and then. Rewriting a 43-year-old record in the 400m, and a sub-59s national record in the 400mH at the Asian Games - a first final for Singapore in more than 40 years too! - I will always remember these as bittersweet; both pain, but also my greatest moments of pride.
.
Many factors led me to this, each one making it feel more difficult to put one foot in front of the other. But athletes always look forward, and so am I. I’m hanging up my spikes and calling time on competitive athletics for now, and look forward to the next phase of life: Starting a family with Seng Song will take centre place.
.
I’ve always tried to be someone worthy of flying Singapore’s flag on the track, and hope that I’ve done so as well as I could. It’s never been smooth sailing, but it has always been rewarding. I’m thankful for every cheer and encouragement that came from within and beyond the track - they kept me going on for more and longer than you’d know. And to my sponsors over the years: you made it possible to carry on and have empowered me to forge my own path. To my current sponsors NIKE, Pure, and Garmin- your continued support means the absolute world to me.
.
To my family, my husband Seng Song, my coach Luis: You kept me going in the darkest of times and I could never thank you enough. .
It’s so long for now for competitive athletics, but I know I could never leave the sport. It’ll always remain a part of me.
.
Love, Dips.

What I’m waiting for
A day that after all
It’s too hard to trust the answer that I have
Easily just say
Nothing gonna happen like what I think
But I never have the way to make believe
On the way, what I have to do
Anything, that’s why I’m meant to
Finally, ask me no more
What I’m waiting for
A reason for tomorrow
I need a sun comes up and get it bright in my own world
What I’m waiting for
Save me from the darkness
So please, to promise me and telling me who I am
What I’m waiting for
What I'v done before
Nothing even matter
It’s a time to seize the moment that I lost.
A dream is just a dream
But here I have a secret recalling me
Only I could show me who I gonna be
On the way, what I have to do
Anything, that’s why I’m meant to
Finally, ask me no more
What I’m waiting for
A reason for tomorrow
I need a sun comes up and get it bright in my own world
What I’m waiting for
Save me from the darkness
So please, to promise me and telling me who I am
What I’m waiting for

Allen Iverson turned the boos to cheers and the Philadelphia 76ers turned back the Utah Jazz.
Iverson returned from a one-game suspension to score 24 points, including a clutch 3-pointer with two minutes to go, as the 76ers pulled away for a 99-97 victory over the Jazz, who had a nine-game winning streak snapped.
Iverson missed a shootaround and was suspended by 76ers coach Larry Brown for Thursday's 92-77 loss at Miami. Iverson called the team and said he had a headache, but Brown suspended him anyway for an accumulation of trangressions.
Upset that he was not trusted by management, the NBA's scoring leader received a smattering of boos when he was introduced before tonight's game.
"That's the way life is. You can't satisfy everybody," Iverson said. "There is going to be a billion fans out here that love Allen Iverson and a billion that hate him. Once you start worrying about the ones that hate you, that's when you start to lose focus."
"That was the worst thing that could happen," Brown said. "It had to be hard. I didn't particularly listen but Randy (assistant coach Randy Ayers) mentioned it. ... You hope there is closure to it and it's over. And the way he played, I didn't hear anybody complaining."
Iverson won over the crowd with an excellent floor game that included 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point range and a season-high nine assists.
"He played his best all-around game, to be perfectly honest with you," Brown said. "He made the other people better. He made big shots and I think it's a tribute to him that he could play under those circumstances."
"I was real ready to play this game," said Iverson, who was 8-of-20 from the field. "We've never beat Utah since I've been here."
Iverson helped the 76ers beat the Jazz at their own game -- offensive execution down the stretch. Philadelphia answered nearly every basket by Utah with one of its own and ended a five-game losing streak in the series.
"We did a really great job," said Brown, who tied Jazz coach Jerry Sloan on the all-time list with 718 victories. "They are as good as anybody in the league in execution and they made plays. I did a hell of a job in late-game situations with substituting offense-defense. They scored on our defensive team every trip but we got it done. I didn't think it would be easy."
"They deserved to win. They outplayed us and outworked us," Sloan said. "We didn't do the things down the stretch that give you a chance to win. We played like winning wasn't important to us."
The Jazz had a chance to cut the deficit to three points but Karl Malone missed a pair of free throws. Utah appeared to have Iverson trapped, but he spun through two defenders and drove before firing a behind-the-back pass to Theo Ratliff, who dunked for an 88-81 lead with 3:40 remaining.
A 3-pointer by John Stockton cut the deficit to 90-85 with 2:37 to play but Iverson answered with a 3-pointer and put his hand to his ear, calling for cheers from the First Union Center crowd.
Iverson added another basket for a 97-89 lead with 59 seconds to go and the Sixers withstood eight points from sharpshooting Jeff Hornacek to improve to 15-7 in games decided by three points or less.
"I told him that everybody in that locker room respects him for the way he competes every night so we have to go from here and all make a commitment to get this thing over with," Brown said. "Every time I've ever been involved with him in a situation like this, he's responded really favorably. You're going to have slippage that happens. He's 24 years old, you have to remember that. I don't know many 24-year-olds that are in a position he is with so much scrutiny."
Philadelphia's Toni Kukoc scored 14 points and led a bench that outscored Utah's reserves, 33-17. Tyrone Hill and Theo Ratliff scored 12 points apiece for the Sixers, who shot 50 percent (41-of-82) and made 11-of-12 free throws.
Malone had 31 points and 13 rebounds and Hornacek scored 16 points for the Jazz, who had not lost since February 27 at Portland and fell to 3-1 on their five-game road trip. Utah shot 45 percent (34-of-76) and held a 43-36 rebounding edge.
"We lose by two points and I miss six free throws (out of 15)," Malone said. "That's what I'll think about. They did a lot of things down the stretch to win this ballgame. They got the offensive rebounds and made big shots."

Shaquille O'Neal, the man with four rings, 28,596 career points and scores of nicknames, has finally decided to call it quits, ending one of the most colorful careers in NBA history that will surely culminate with a Hall of Fame induction.
O'Neal, 39, officially announced his retirement Wednesday using the new social media tool Tout, a real-time video messaging service.
"Once a businesman, always a businessman," O'Neal said, smiling. "I am the emperor of the social media network. Why text when you can Tout?"
O'Neal signed a two-year contract with the Boston Celtics last summer but a persistent Achilles injury will prevent him from fulfilling the terms of the deal. O'Neal first injured his right Achilles on Christmas Day and was able to play only in two of the final 35 games of the regular season.
On April 3 against Detroit, O'Neal returned to the court after a two-month absence and scored six points in a spirited 5 minutes and 29 seconds before coming up lame and limping off the floor. Although his injury was listed as a strained calf, O'Neal said it was the Achilles flaring up again.
"I felt like someone had shot me in the back of my leg," he said.
O'Neal did not play again in the regular season. He sat out the New York Knicks playoff series then tried to return in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against his old team, the Miami Heat. O'Neal logged 8 1/2 minutes in the 97-81 victory but woke up in considerable pain the next morning. His final game was two days later, when he toiled for three minutes of Game 4 before Celtics coach Doc Rivers pulled him for good.
In the final weeks of the the playoffs, O'Neal, over the objections of team physician Brian McKeon, had "more than five" cortisone shots in his Achilles in an attempt to play against the Heat.
"Doc (McKeon) kept telling me, 'No, no,' but I wanted to play so badly," O'Neal said. "My feeling was, 'If it ruptures, it ruptures.' The Celtics were so good to me I wanted to do everything I could to get back on the court for them."
Throughout his time on the sideline, Shaq said, he continued to do rehab as well as work on the treadmill and the exercise bike. He swam each evening at the Thoreau Club in Concord and shot a number of late-night free throws in at the Lincoln-Sudbury High School gymnasium across the street from his rented Sudbury home. He lost 35 pounds and was "feeling great everywhere except for that one little spot behind my heel."
Shaq said McKeon recommended surgery that would "clean up" the area around the Achilles, but O'Neal revealed the recovery time would be close to nine months.
"I really, really thought about coming back," he said, "but this Achilles is very damaged and if I had it done the recovery would be so long we'd have same outcome as this last year -- everyone sitting around and waiting for me.
"I didn't want to let people down two years in a row. I didn't want to hold Boston hostage again.
"I'm letting everybody know now so Danny (Ainge) and the organization can try to get younger talent. I would love to come back, but they say once the Achilles is damaged it's never the same. I don't want to take that chance."
O'Neal said his final months in Boston included some of the darkest days of his career because "I just hated to let the city of Boston down. I really grew to love the place. Everyone was so welcoming to me and treated me so great. They believed in me and they took care of me, especially the great people of Sudbury. I love that town."
O'Neal also had effusive praise for Rivers, whom, he said, was "one of the best I ever played for."
"I thought Doc was fabulous," O'Neal said. "He stressed 'team' all the time, never wavered on that. He kept everyone together. He's an amazing coach. I want to congratulate him on his five years (extension).
"He deserves it. He loves the organization, loves the players, and we all love him back."
O'Neal is acutely aware the Celtics posted a record of 21-4 when he was able to play 20 or more minutes this season. The chemistry he shared with the Big Three (Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen) and Rajon Rondo, he said, will be an enduring memory, leaving him to wonder what would have happened had he stayed healthy.
"We were supposed to win this year but 'supposed' doesn't count," he said. "The path was there for us. All the so-called super powers were gone -- LA, San Antonio. I really feel if I was on the court we would have done it, but I don't believe in 'ifs.' "
O'Neal said he wasn't prepared yet to reminisce about his long and prolific career, which produced three championships with the Lakers and one with the Heat. "Let's save that for the press conference on Friday," said O'Neal, who will hold that media event at his Isleworth home.
