Today I just received this record. John Mayer - Sob Rock. Found it on my door step. I am so happy! I have been waiting this to this day! So I am so thrilling to drop this record on my record player.

First of all, my English is not my first language so I can’t explain it perfectly but I will try my best.

I have known John since 1997 so long time! I am so happy to hear his new music with this RECORD format (not online or cd!) This is the best way to hear the music! Reading and starring at the album cover or album liner notes while you are listening. Lovely to hear each side of record too! (Right amount of time for testing my ears!) So music going into me slowly and deeply.

Each song is very tasty and flow naturally song to song. Lyrics are also so personal and relate to everyone beautifully. It sounds very familiar yet very original like John Mayer! I love that part so much! Great cooking!

Love those bass playing by John too! Off course amazing top notch musicians in this record! To me, everything so right sized, simply yet very sophisticated with variety of sounds also very classic and so new same time!

So satisfying like having a best full course meal! Just so right amount and want to more! I want to hear side A again and repeat!

//Seasoned local pop music group Tat Ming Pair are currently holding their concert at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium. As a cultural icon, they have been renowned for not only their exotic, Brit/Euro-influenced and experimental pop music style, but also the social awareness flowing through their lyrics. I was literally stunned by their works during the 80s which still inspire my music and lyrics writing today. After the group’s breakup in 1990, lead singer Mr. Anthony Wong (aka “Ming Gor”) continued his solo career, gracing this place with sophisticated, beautiful but provocative works about our state of existence. Cursed however with his works' socio-political edge and his own active participation in social movements in recent years, he faces ever escalating boycotts from the commercial sector, media as well as the mainland market. Despite all these hardships, he still insists on standing up to his conscience and speaking out the truth through his music. Refusal to bend is really a rare gem in HK’s entertainment/cultural industry nowadays, and I have great respect for him, the Tat Ming Pair and their teammates.//
