Fight COVID-19
Both Sarawakian singers, Jet Yi Jie Qi and Dave Bei Jie will be cooperating with other Malaysian singers to sing “A Better Tomorrow” and each of them will sing a different version of same song as a form of motivation for Sarawak and its medical frontliners and other individuals who are involved in the fight of the COVID-19.
Besides Jet Yi Jie Qi and Dave Bei Jie, there will be a group young singers who will also join the song relay and they are Zhang Yin Shan, Zuo Tou Jing, Han Lung, Chen Yi Yi, Lin Yao Liang, Pianist Fan Min Yi and Ye Yi Cheng. More singers and musicians will soon join the song relay.
Besides the “one person-one version” song which you hear online, you will also be able to listen to the Chinese-Malay radio station version arranged by Wu Guan Yan and sang by Jet Yi Jie Qi.
This song relay project comes from the idea of Dato Wee Hong Seng, Mayor of Kuching South where he plans to gather all the Sarawakian singers to motivate the people of Kuching and Sarawak and at the same time, the medical frontliners and other individuals for their unyielding efforts by singing for them.
It was during the brainstorming session that a different form of singing ensemble would be used and it was finally decided on “One Song-One Person-One Version” song relay. Those who “Stay At Home” can use their singing talent to sing the song to cheer up Sarawak.
The purpose is to gather all the strength of yours by singing “A Better Tomorrow” from home to motivate and to appreciate the frontline warriors. Same song, one person and one version, sing it and share it. No matter who you are, we are looking forward to hearing your own version.
