L’Oréal ใหญ่แค่ไหน? / โดย ลงทุนแมน
ชมพู่ อารยา เป็นตัวแทนของ L’Oréal
ที่ได้ไปเดินในเทศกาลหนังเมืองคานส์เป็นครั้งที่ 6 แล้ว
หลายคนก็คงจะจับจ้องกับชุดของเธอ
แต่เราเคยสงสัยไหมว่า
แบรนด์ L’Oréal นี้ ใหญ่แค่ไหน?
ทำไมถึงได้เป็นผู้สนับสนุนในเทศกาลนี้
วันนี้ลงทุนแมนจะเล่าให้ฟัง
L’Oréal เริ่มต้นขึ้นในปี 1909 โดยนักเคมีชาวฝรั่งเศส ชื่อ Eugène Schueller ได้คิดค้นน้ำยาย้อมสีผม แล้วได้รับเสียงตอบรับจากช่างทำผมในเมืองปารีสเป็นอย่างมาก
จนทำให้เขาตั้งเป็นบริษัท Société Française de Teintures Inoffensives pour Cheveux ขึ้นมา และต่อมาก็เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น L’Oréal
แต่หลังจากที่ Eugène Schueller เสียชีวิต แล้ว François Dalle ก็เข้ามาบริหารงานแทน
ซึ่ง Dalle มีแนวคิดที่น่าสนใจ คือ การขยายตลาดด้วยการซื้อบริษัทเครื่องสำอางแบรนด์อื่น
โดยวัตถุประสงค์ของเขา เพื่อเจาะกลุ่มตลาดใหม่ และเพิ่มช่องทางการกระจายสินค้า
จนกระทั่งปี 1963 L’Oréal ได้เข้าจดทะเบียนในตลาดหุ้น Paris Stock Exchange ของประเทศฝรั่งเศส
หลังจากนั้นมา L’Oréal ก็ซื้อบริษัทอื่นเข้ามาเรื่อยๆ ตามแนวคิดของ Dalle จนทำให้ L’Oréal กลายมาเป็นบริษัทเครื่องสำอางอันดับ 1 ของโลก
รู้หรือไม่ว่า ตอนนี้ L’Oréal มีแบรนด์ที่อยู่ภายใต้บริษัททั้งหมด 34 แบรนด์ โดยแบ่งเป็น 4 ประเภท
1. ผลิตภัณฑ์ความงามชั้นสูง (L’Oréal Luxe) เช่น
Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Biotherm, Cacharel, Diesel, Viktor&Rolf, Ralph Lauren, Kiehl’s, Shu Uemura, Clarisonic, Guy Laroche, Paloma Picasso, Urban Decay, Maison Margiela, Yue Sai, Helena Rubinstein, IT Cosmetics, Atelier Cologne, และ Proenza Schouler
2. ผลิตภัณฑ์อุปโภค (Consumer Products) เช่น
L’Oréal Paris, Magic, Garnier, Maybelline New York, African Beauty Brands, Essie, NYX และ Niely
3. ผลิตภัณฑ์เวชสำอาง (Active Cosmetics) เช่น
Vichy, La Roche-Posay, SkinCeuticals, Roger & Gallet, Sanoflore และ CeraVe
4. ผลิตภัณฑ์ช่างผมมืออาชีพ (Professional Products) เช่น
L’Oréal Professionnel, Kérastase, Redken, Matix, Pureology, Shu Uemura Art of Hair, Mizani, Decléor, Carita, Biolage และ Seed Phytonutrients
ตอนนี้ L’Oréal มีมูลค่าบริษัท 4.3 ล้านล้านบาท ใหญ่กว่าบริษัทในประเทศไทยทุกบริษัท
ในปี 2017 L’Oréal มีรายได้รวมกันทั้งหมดมากถึง 988,640 ล้านบาท
ซึ่งมีสัดส่วนรายได้ คือ
46.6% ผลิตภัณฑ์อุปโภค
32.5% ผลิตภัณฑ์ความงามชั้นสูง
12.9% ผลิตภัณฑ์ช่างผมมืออาชีพ
8% ผลิตภัณฑ์เวชสำอาง
และล่าสุดเมื่อวันที่ 3 พฤษภาคม 2018 L’Oréal ได้ประกาศซื้อหุ้นทั้งหมด ของ บริษัท นันดะ จำกัด ซึ่งดีลนี้มีมูลค่าประมาณ 4.8 พันล้านบาท
ใครคือบริษัท นันดะ?
บริษัท นันดะ เป็นบริษัทเครื่องสำอางของเกาหลีที่กำลังมาแรงซึ่งเป็นแบรนด์ที่ผู้หญิงรุ่นใหม่รู้จักกันดี และตอนนี้เป็นที่นิยมมากในตลาดเมืองจีน นั่นก็คือ 3CE (ทรีซีอี)
ในปี 2017 แบรนด์ 3CE ทำรายได้ให้กับบริษัท นันดะ สูงถึง 70% ของรายได้ทั้งหมด
อาจจะตีความได้ว่า L’Oréal ต้องการที่จะขยายตลาดฝั่ง เอเชียแปซิฟิก เพราะปัจจุบัน L’Oréal มีส่วนแบ่งการตลาดในภูมิภาคนี้เพียงแค่ 9.6% เท่านั้น
นอกจากนี้ยังมีอีกเรื่องที่น่าสนใจเกี่ยวกับ L’Oréal คือ
ผู้หญิงที่รวยเป็นอันดับ 2 ของโลกก็คือ Françoise Bettencourt Meyers ได้รับมรดกมาจากแม่ของเธอ Liliane Bettencourt เป็นหุ้น L’Oréal จำนวน 33% ของทั้งบริษัท
ซึ่งถ้าเอาสัดส่วน 33% ไปคูณกับมูลค่าบริษัท ตอนนี้คุณ Bettencourt จะมีมูลค่าทรัพย์สินปัจจุบัน ประมาณ 1.4 ล้านล้านบาท
เรื่องนี้ทำให้เราได้เรียนรู้อะไรบางอย่างที่เกี่ยวกับ L’Oréal
บางทีบริษัทอาจจะไม่จำเป็นต้องขยายกิจการด้วยตัวเอง (Organic Growth)
ถ้าบริษัทรู้จักหาช่องทางการขยายกิจการโดยการซื้อบริษัทอื่น (Inorganic Growth) ก็อาจจะทำให้บริษัทเติบโตเร็วขึ้นกว่าเดิม
ถึงแม้ว่าแบรนด์ L’Oréal จะเป็นแบรนด์เครื่องสำอางที่ใหญ่มากแล้ว
แต่ก็ยังไม่หยุดที่จะขยายกิจการต่อไป
ตรงกันข้ามกับ บางบริษัทที่มีกิจการใหญ่โตแล้วก็เติบโตได้ช้าลง เพราะไม่มองหาโอกาสใหม่ๆ
ถ้าวันนี้เรารู้จักมองหาช่องทางอย่างไม่หยุด ก็อาจจะประสบความสำเร็จเหมือน L’Oréal ที่เป็นสปอนเซอร์ของเทศกาลหนังเมืองคานส์
แล้วเราชอบชุดไหนของคุณชมพู่ในเมืองคานส์ แต่สำหรับลงทุนแมน ชอบชุดในรูปนี้นะ..
