Ford has added the Active Wagon to its Focus range in Europe, expanding its range of pseudo crossover models to four on the continent.
Like the Focus Active hatch, the wagon variant features off-road styling, although there's no mention of all-wheel drive. Like the hatch, the Active wagon seems to be a front-wheel drive only affair.
Design differences compared to the regular wagon include revised front and rear bumpers, plenty of grey plastic and silver highlights, more prominent side sills, and wheel arch protectors.
To give the car a little bit of off-road ability, Ford has added Slippery and Trail options to the Active's selectable drive modes. There's no extra off-roading hardware, but the two modes tweak the car's power delivery and stability control to better suit the road surface.
As with the hatchback, the wagon's ride height has been raised by 30mm at the front and 34mm at the rear. Depending on grade, it rides on 17-inch wheels paired with 215/55 tyres, or 18-inch rims fitted with 215/50 rubber.
