止醜人形 (ししゅうにんぎょう)
Elysiumの都市「堕落の崖」に遍在する装置である。この特殊な社会現象は、人々が美と醜の概念について混乱し、故に人々は本人で交流を恥じる原因となっていると考えられており、Elysiumの世界はこのデバイスを止醜人形 と呼んでいる。
実はこの現象は、ここに住む、七情の「憎」と「六欲の「表現欲」を象徴するのMaikoによって引き起こされたものなのです。Elysiumで人性を持っている生命は、ある程度の知的生命体に影響を及ぼし、「表現欲」を象徴するのMaikoは国全体に影響を与える。 美しさと醜さの区別を失った社会は、人々の違いや階級を様々な形で分断し、元々もろい心だった Maikoを苦しめる。 長年、 止醜人形の体に隠れて外界から隔離されていた彼女は、 止醜人形の状態の中、異常に歪んだ性格をしている。
