1) ลักษณะอาชีพ
เป็นสายที่ไม่ต้องมีใบประกอบวิชาชีพ
จบจากสาขาอื่น ก็กระโดดมาเขียนโปรแกรมก็ยังได้
ยิ่งบริษัทดังๆ ระดับโลก หลายแห่งเขาเริ่มไม่สนใจปริญญากันแหละ

หน้าที่หลักก็เขียนโค้ดตาม spec หรือ requirement
แต่สเกลงานจะครอบคลุม มีตั้งแต่ออกแบบ เขียนโค้ด แก้บั๊ก ทดสอบ

อันนี้คร่าวๆ เพราะที่ทำงานแต่ละแห่ง เนื้อหางาน ขอบเขตความรับผิดชอบจะไม่เหมือนกัน แถมชื่อตำแหน่งก็ยังต่างกันอีกด้วย

ถ้าทำบริษัทแนวซอฟต์แวร์เฮาส์
เนื้องานที่ทำ ก็ขึ้นกับโปรเจคที่ได้รับมอบหมาย
พอโปรเจคตัวหนึ่งจบ ก็ไปต่ออีกโปรเจค
หรือดูแลโปรเจคเดิม support ไปเรื่อยๆ

2) คุณสมบติอาชีพนี้
- ใช้ตรรกะ ทางความคิดค่อนข้างสูง
- เป็นทั้งนักสร้างสรรค์ เพื่อสร้างผลงานให้ทันเดดไลน์
- อีกทั้งต้องเป็นนักแก้ปัญหาตัวยง ทั้งแก้ปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นในงานที่เราทำ หรือเอางานคนอื่นมาแก้ไข เป็นต้น
- ต้องเป็นคนที่ไม่หยุดนิ่ง เท้าต้องเต้นฟุตเวิร์คตลอดเวลา เพราะแต่ละวัน จะเจอปัญหาใหม่ๆ ที่ไม่จำเจ ต้องรับมือได้ทัน
- มีความกระหายเรียนรู้สิ่งๆ ใหม่ เพราะเทคโนโลยีไม่เคยหยุดนิ่ง
