It's Friyay! Let's cray cray a bit! Life is no fun when we are boring!
It has been raining. I really love this sweet dessert soup when the weather turn cool and wet.
Poh Poh used to cook this for us. It is every Chinese favourite Tong Shui aka Sweet Soup 糖水. So simple to prepare but so heart warming. It is my kind of comfort food.
Shall we start?
Ingredients:
. Sweet Potatoes, Best to get e orange or purple sweet potatoes, they are more buttery for soup
. Plenty of pounded Old ginger, Bentong Ginger is the best! Put more if u like spicy spicy like me
. Bee Rock Sugar or Slab sugar or Gula Melaka
. Pandan leaves
. water
. Glutinous Rice Balls (optional)
Note/Tips :
. Boil ginger and pandan leaves for at least half an hour before u put the potatoes
. You can always add some dried Longan and red dates
. Dont boil the potatoes for too long. 15 mins will be good enough
. if you are adding glutinous rice balls, please add them into the soup 5 mins before eating. They cook pretty fast.
I cook this soup very often. It helps to keep great skin and happy gut.
Sweet potatoes contain vitamin A and this vitamin makes you produce less oil, and so your skin will be non-greasy too. Ginger is loaded with antioxidants, compounds that prevent stress and damage to your body's DNA. They may help your body fight off chronic diseases like high blood pressure, heart disease, and diseases of the lungs, plus promote healthy aging. Yayy, Keep us YOUNG!

Hello my fluffy hamsters,
I'm finally back after a crazy month. How was everybody's vacation? I'm actually glad Summer is ending because this season is always craziest for me. I just got back from LA a few days ago and the HEAT and SUN took such a tole on my skin and hair. My skin was absolutely THIRSTY and was in need of REVIVING and my hair was so dry and brittle. Hydrated skin is the number 1 most important rule in skincare. When skin is dehydrated, it is more prone to breakouts, excess oil, wrinkles, flaking and blackheads. Makeup also looks best on hydrated skin.
This DIY mask is packed full of vitamins and antioxidants. It will plump up your skin and have it feeling like it just chugged down gallons of water. It will brighten, hydrate, protect and soothe the skin for a healthy complexion. If you got some scars and dark spots, this mask will help to minimize their appearances too (I got some sun spots boohoo). This remedy will quench your skin's thirst.
