今日はイギリス出身のシンガーソングライターEd Sheeran（エド・シーラン）の新アルバムより「Shape of You」（意味：君の身体の形）を日本語で歌ってみました。この曲を選んだのは、リクエストがあったことと、Ed Sheeranの曲をカバーしようと以前から思っていたという理由からです。この曲を訳すのは面白い作業でした(^^)/ ユーチューバ―のメンチャカさんもこの曲を日本語で歌われていて、彼の歌詞を所々参考にさせてもらいながら、自分のバージョンを作ってみました。ちなみに彼のバージョンもおすすめです(^^♪ 彼のチャンネルページをクレジットにてリンクしておきます。
私は普段、「身体」についての歌詞が多い曲は避けていますが、この曲はノリがよくて歌詞のはめ方が面白かったので歌ってみました(笑) 近いうちにはEd Sheeranの落ち着いた曲もカバーしたいと思います！

A Japanese cover of Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You." I chose this song due partially to request and partially to having always wanted to do an Ed Sheeran song. This was interesting to translate - I used fellow YouTuber Menchaca's version for reference in a few places! I definitely recommend checking out his version, too. His channel is linked in the credits.
I usually stay away from songs that talk about "bodies" a lot, but I decided to go for it since I was really impressed by the rhymes and groove of the lyrics and thought it would be fun to translate. In the near future I'll probably cover some of Ed Sheeran's slower songs, hehe. Anyway, enjoy this cover!

"Through today's competition, I learned a little about how strongly (Uchimura) Kohei-san feels about team competition and the weight he carries (with the desire to win). When we placed 2nd in London (2012 Olympics), the me who was a national representative for the first time was just happy. Today we have achieved the same 2nd place but it feels completely different. Kohei-san has felt this so many times...really tough. For Kohei's sake as well, I will not feel down and do my very best next year!!"

(T/N: When the final results flashed on the scoreboard Team Japan looked so heartbroken, and Ryohei in particular couldn't contain his disappointment and frustration - it really showed. He just sat on the floor for a good few minutes. He looked really crestfallen in his interview with the Japanese media right after, so guess he received many messages, heh)

"There are so many things I want to say. But a defeat is a defeat. Even if I had not stepped out of bounds (on Floor), I feel like the result would have been the same. We did our best on all 18 routines and we don't want to have any regrets. Even with the loud cheering, China was strong enough to minimise their mistakes in the second half of the competition. (I have) 2 more finals coming up. Grateful that I am in them. I will get back that 0.1 in the Floor finals.
