『爵士任意門』重返經典爵士現場--第六集

本週內容：
本週將為大家介紹在1950到1960年代期間與知名爵士演出場所如：Village Vanguard, the Village Gate, the Five Spot, 和 Slug's Saloon 齊名的Half Note Jazz Club. 今年皮克斯動畫的電影”Soul”更以Half Note為電影場景，述說一位高中樂團老師在Half Note演出的故事。
當時的Half Note以邀請年輕一輩重要的音樂家著稱, 也成為爵士樂迷到紐約必定造訪的聖地. 2005年時發行了由薩克斯風手John Coltrane在1965年所錄製的“Live at the Half Note: One Down, One Up," 更讓許多樂迷回憶起這重要的地方.
除了Coltrane外, 吉他手Wes Montgomery與Wynton Kelly trio（當時Miles Davis的節奏組）更是樂迷們不容錯過的好作品. 今晚就讓我們一起收聽當年這些難得的音樂記錄吧！

Tomo Fujita possesses all the elements of great musicianship: astounding technical ability, flawless rhythm skills, and a total command of his instrument. But if asked, Tomo would tell you that music is not just about playing. It’s about feeling. He has a remarkable ability to inject emotion into every phrase he plays, whether the style is blues, jazz, funk or rock. Tomo earned a degree at Berklee College of Music and has been a faculty member at Berklee since 1993. Perhaps the most famous of his former Berklee students are Soulive guitarist Eric Krasno (Kraz) and John Mayer. Tomo is also affiliated with the major music schools in his native Japan. His articles have been published in the Japanese magazines Jazz Life and Jazz Guitar, and he is a regular contributor to the Japanese edition of Guitar magazine. His instructional materials are especially popular in Japan, where guitar players have bought more than 100,000 copies of his videos and books. Tomo has performed with some of the best, including Phil Collins, John Mayer, James Genus (Saturday Night Live), Will Lee (Late Show with David Letterman), Kenwood Dennard (Jaco Pastorious, Dizzy Gillespie, Jimmy Smith), Darryl Jones (Miles Davis, Sting, Rolling Stones), Paul Jackson (Herbie Hancock, Headhunters), Ronnie Earl, Steve Gadd, Bernard Purdie, Steve Jordan and Susan Tedeschi. Tomo also enjoyed a guitar-playing gig in a Boston production of the musical Rent. トモ藤田 1965年、京都生まれ。21歳で渡米。 1991年、"ボストン・ギタリスト・コンペティション"において日本人初優勝。 1993年、バークリー音楽院ギター科講師に就任。 1998年、同校助教授に昇進。 同年に発表した教則ビデオ『ギタリストのための演奏能力開発エクササイズ』が大ヒットし、その後も多くの教則物を制作。教え子には今をときめくジョン・メイヤー、エリック・クラズノー（ソウライヴ）などがいる。 アルバムは1996年発表の1st 『Put on your Funk face』と、2007年の2nd『Right Place, Right Time』。2010年にはスティーヴ・ガッド、バーナード・パーディ、スティーヴ・ジョーダン、ウィル・リーを迎えた3rdアルバム『Pure』をリリース。講師・ギタリストとして日米双方で活躍中。
