Tell me about your dreams.
Recently I listened to the podcast by @lucasrockwood where he talks about the power of dreams with @charlie_morley_lucid_dreaming. That we can become more aware of our dreams and how that can help us to be more creative.
This got me thinking, are we resting and sleeping enough? If you ask around, most people will tell you no. And I have heard stories and claims from friends and students that sometimes even after yoga or a workout, they don’t feel more relaxed. Why is that?
I will attempt to answer that. First when we go to a yoga class or a workout, we tend to expect that we must achieve something or trying to reach a state, or gain muscle mass, rather than just trusting the process, having fun and being present. Yes, while trying to achieve a pose might be important, but staying focused and breathing in your class or practice can help you reach mental and spiritual relaxation, which is a higher form of relaxation - the kind that will help you truly relax and sleep.
Secondly, we subject ourselves in a highly stimulated environment: work, smart devices, violent or horror shows, sensationalised news. Try to limit your time you spent on these things. You will definitely find it easier to unwind and relax.
And if all else fails, read a book (this puts me to sleep every time!) and do simple #supinetwist as shown in this picture. If you can’t reach your foot with the leg straight, use a strap or a towel to connect your hand and your foot. Do both sides and in each side stay for about 2-3 minutes.
Assuming you can sleep now and your dreams will flow, @charlie_morley_lucid_dreaming went on to say that we should journal our dreams so that we can build up a memory for our dreams and that will help us become more aware of our dreams. That sounds pretty amazing because dreams are really important. From the dreams that I can remember, sometimes I do find solutions or answers for the things that have been puzzling me at work. Charlie even claims that within a few weeks of dream journaling, you will already start to see results.

Tip No. 41: You know those quirky little things you do and think? Collect them in a file or on paper. Even if you’re a storyteller, you can use these as details to add depth and distinction to your jokes.

Tip No. 45: Don’t Hoard Jokes
Don’t worry about “burning” material on a special or album. Hoarding jokes may signal to your brain that you’re out of ideas. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” — Maya Angelou.

Gary’s thoughts on Tip No. 45: This attitude has been crucial to an unprecedented streak of creativity over the last two years. I’ve written four hours of material, which is almost as much as I wrote in my first 23 years of comedy. Most important has been my health, this idea may be second.

Tip No. 62: Look for inspiration everywhere. Paintings, music, poetry, rap, novels, nonfiction, short stories, theater, philosophy, etc. can all provide a spark for creativity. Cross-pollinate your work with broad influences and watch your creativity grow.

Tip No. 90: After a Good Set, Brainstorm
You just had a great set. Instead of celebrating, use that hour or so after when the synapses are still firing and your confidence is soaring to voice record or write down the ideas that pop up during that especially fertile creative time.

Tip No. 92: Notice where you do your best thinking. The shower? Running? Listening to music? Not listening to music? Driving? Walking? Make sure to put yourself in the places where you’re doing your best thinking as frequently as possible.

Tip No. 157: Need new joke ideas? Be sensitive. If you’re uncomfortable with that word, use “irritable” (or grow up). A lot of good comedy comes from reaction to injustice or discomfort large and small, which requires being hypersensitive to those feelings.

Tip No. 285: Explore unusual angles in a joke. Example: Examine things from the POV of a child or an Expert. My man Jimmy P and I still laugh over his “Martian response to high school football practice: Why are the hard-heads (players) taking orders from the small soft-heads (coach)?”

Tip No. 310: When it comes to solving the puzzles that are our jokes, draw on every area of knowledge, expertise, and talent. It’s so gratifying to use a fact, a lesson, or a memory from elementary school, high school, or elsewhere to fill in the joke.

Tip No. 311: Some of your best ideas will come to you in the shower. There’s science behind why it happens. Get a shower notepad if you have trouble remembering your ideas. Don’t listen to music. Listen to your thoughts. Ruminate on tonight’s set or a new joke.

Surely we have all heard business executives, policy makers, civic leaders, and educators talking about the term “critical thinking.” But what exactly is it? Why is it considered so useful and important?

To a certain extent we all know what “critical thinking” means — it means high-quality thinking. Some might say that is the opposite of illogical or irrational thinking, but this definition still seems vague. Is critical thinking the same as analytical thinking? What about creative thinking?

From experience, most now know that critical thinking is thinking that has a purpose (proving a point, interpreting what something means, solving a problem), and critical thinking can be a collaborative process. Without it, we wouldn't be able to solve complex problems without definite answers in and outside the classroom.
We are bombarded with information and problems on a daily basis in our society today. We need critical thinking to help us process information and solve these problems.
從經驗中,多數人現在知道批判性思考是帶有「目的」的思考(證明觀點、解決問題、詮釋某一事物的意涵),而批判性思考可以是一個協作的過程。沒有它,我們將會遭遇極大的麻煩,因為無論是在課內或課外,當我們在解決複雜的問題時必會遇到困難。在當今的社會中,我們每天都會遭受各種資訊與問題的轟炸。我們需要批判性思考來幫助我們處理資訊並解決這些問題。

Please READ this box here for more info. It's the holiday season and perhaps you can't help yourself but to overindulge in the holiday feasts. Chances are, you might be feeling tired and bloated, due to the excess amount of sugar, refined carbs and salt that you have been munching through.
Excess refined sugar causes spikes in blood sugar, which means more cravings for sugary food; excess salt causes water retention and puffiness; and excess alcohol causes dehydration.
So, it's important for us to cleanse our body from the toxins that have built up over the weeks of holiday abuse. We won't be doing any extreme detox like going on a liquid diet for the next 3 days, because it's not needed. Instead we want to go on a "Light & Clean" Detox Plan for the next 2-3 days to:
1) Release Water Retention & Bloating

3) Recharge Your Energy & Metabolism
This detox plan will be based on cutting out starchy carbs in order for your body to flush out the unneeded water rapidly. We will be eating a lot of plant based foods, protein and healthy fat instead. This is also suitable for vegan and vegetarian by making slight adjustments to the food.
So if you are ready, put all the holiday indulgence aside, and start this "3-Day Light & Clean Detox" to cleanse your body, mind and soul ready to start the new year fresh!
P/S It's Christmas, so Merry Christmas and have a lovely time. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to enjoy the holiday parties without over thinking! =)
