Join me for my visit to the The Wizarding World of Harry Potter found at Universal Studios Hollywood in Southern California. My first stop of course is to get the appropriate Hogwarts School of Wizardry gear including a magic wand from Ollivander’s Wand Shop at Universal Studios Hollywood. These magic wands have magic (actually proximity sensors) that will activate different devices throughout Hogsmeade. Then I get on the Hogwarts Express and exit Platform 9 ¾ taking me to Hogsmeade!
The main attractions at Hogsmeade in Universal Studios is a ride called Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, which is a motion dark ride that has riders spinning in a 3D motion chair while flying through the air on a broomstick, chasing dragons, battling giant spiders, and being chased by creatures of all types. The Forbidden Journey ride at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter spares no expense, and has roles featuring Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, Bonnie Wright as Ginny Weasley. Another attraction is the Flight of the Hippogriff a steel outdoor rollercoaster simulating a flight on this legendary winged creature.
Other attractions at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood include the Frog Choir (5:22), and the Triwizard Spirit Rally (5:30), and of course the famous Butter Beer – a butterscotch tasting beer with a slight alcoholic content.
