Our #AmericanEnglish on Saturdays is one way AIT helps support English language learning in Taiwan. Another method is the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) program. ETAs are U.S. college students who volunteer and apply to spend one year abroad helping young students improve their English. There are over 100 ETAs in Taiwan and 27 of them work in Kinmen schools. Fulbright Taiwan Board Chair and AIT Public Diplomacy Section Chief Jesse Curtis recently visited the Kinmen ETAs and donated more than 100 English children’s books to the English Teaching Resource Center at the Jinhu Elementary School.
