@instagram has strangely created a thriving space for #yogis and #yoginis around the world. And I’m grateful to have been obsessed with photography (think 35mm and 120mm film back then when I was young) and this previous obsession has helped me spread the message of Yoga - which has been my obsession for the last 8 years or so. And these two obsessions are now combined to what is known as #instayoga.

Is it the best medium to teach Yoga? Hell no. To me, I am still a traditionalist who believes that direct experience is the best way to learn - in classes, workshops, teacher trainings, Mentorship programmes, etc. But images are powerful tools to inspire others to take up whatever Yoga goodies they can grasp. It could be someone who has never done Yoga before and saw a picture in a relatable setting doing a relevant pose that can echo to their lives and needs. That’s why my photos are mostly shot with my #iphone, in a more spontaneous environment and with guys (so that more guys can be inspired to take up Yoga, just like what @boysofyoga is promoting). You don’t need to be flexible to do Yoga. You don’t need a perfect body to do yoga. Everyone can do yoga. You just need to go and do it, and do it regularly and consistently 🙏🏼
