DNA帶負電荷，只要加上令DNA沉澱的染劑，再加到大菜糕上，施以電場，就會由負極跑到正極。大小不同的DNA，穿過大菜糕的速度不同，就可以將其分別出來。
（小技巧：用左手定住右手，就能精準射擊。當然，如果你天天做這個，小腦已經記住肌肉動作，就不再需要雙手。）
Aqueous DNA is negatively charged. Loaded to an agar gel, supplied with an electric field, DNA molecules moves from the negative to the positive pole. As DNA fragments of different size migrated with different speed in the gel, gel electrophoresis could thus separate them for analysis or experiments.
