Asics Penang Bridge International Marathon 2016 → Men Open 10km.
Woke up at 2.45am, had 4 slices of bread with my favorite Morello Cherry Jam. Got back to sleep and woke up at 5.15am. Get ready everything and start our warm up jog with Azwan from U Hotel to the starting line, which is about 3km away. Took a tablet of Actigin and grab a packet of High 5 Summerfruit Gel and a water bottle along.
Reached the starting line at 5.50am and proceed to running drills and striding. Proceed to starting line at 6.15am. Flagged off at 6.30am.
All of them ran so fast in the beginning, meanwhile I decided to hang on and stay with the pace. I told Azwan, don't get distracted by them, stay with the targeted pace. We ran slightly fast in the first km to get away from all the runnners. Slowly we managed to catch up with them and stayed in the second pack after two Kenyan shoot off to the front.
We continue running side by side with each other until the U-turn part, which is on the bridge there. After I make the U-turn, Azwan couldn't not keep up the pace anymore, so I continue to run alone and try to maintain the pace until the end.
Felt much more better when heading back to the finishing line but waste more energy to go through the big crowd that mixed up with Fm, Hm and Junior 10k runners. Reaching the point where it stated last km to go, I started to go more faster and faster. Press in the last km and the extra 350m sprinting till the end. Looking at the clock showing 35:50, 51, 52 and whacked all out and clocked it at 36:05 minutes. Came back as 3rd Overall, Fastest Malaysian in 10km and great news is that I collected another Sub 35 in the pocket, which made the 4th Sub 35 for 10km this year.

3:14, 3:20, 3:28, 3:34, 3:34, 5k → (17:12)
3:32, 3:34, 3;33, 3:34, 3:26, 10k → (34:54)
