You see, my primary job is not to turn four year olds into award-winning actors; my role is to introduce them to what they can do with their talents.
My work is to help them believe in themselves.
They will have years ahead of them to hone their skills and perform with “bigger” productions.
But they have this tiny window in the early years to develop a trust and confidence in themselves, a passion for the arts that is based on the joy of it.
So yes, I’m very touched to read this. It might sound strange to some, but I’m the teacher who marvels at the child who is performing beautifully— but I am even happier for the fact that the child conquered her or his fears to be on that stage to begin with.
To inspire them to love what they do matters most.
I’m also just too blessed to be among families who celebrate their children for this… How can a Friday be any better? 🌈
