Because we couldn't take time off work, it was a flash 2D1N trip to Penang for what has to be known as "The Wedding Of The Year". (Thanks for having us be a part of your special day, @saraannk1 & @vernonztan!)
Everything was planned down to a T, like the gorgeous fairy lights, shuttle buses back to the hotels, a bouncy castle and colouring sets for kids attending the wedding - I would even say it's as well-planned as National Day in Singapore!
I've not been to Penang for more than a decade, so I didn't quite know my way around. Thankfully though, we had good recommendations for food, so we wasted no time, and decided to whack the local food whenever we could.
One of my favourite recommendations is this beef noodle (thanks for the recommendation, @annabel_t, @dareeooss & @missdeety!)... If you're there, order the dry version, so that you can enjoy the lovely texture of the noodle and the sauce, as well as the original umami flavours of the accompanying soup.
At the same coffeeshop, they also serve an oyster omelette that's really crisp, and another hot favourite in Penang... Do try it if you're in the area!
