Tried Ah Pui Tiong Bahru Satay in Chinatown recently after it opened its own restaurant along the famous Food street. Apart from satay, you can also order food from other stall vendors like King Of Fried Rice.

#新加坡老城漫遊
新加坡眾多老城區中，中峇魯Tiong Bahru 是最喜歡之一。
Tiong Bahru 取名於那邊曾經有一塊 #新的華人墳場，Tiong 是福建話「終點」的意思，Bahru 是馬來話「新」的意思，現在那裡成為中央醫院。
但我更喜歡翻譯為 #新舊交陳…走幾步路有時髦咖啡店或黑膠唱片行，下個路口是老字號肉骨茶。
是中峇魯的一貫魅力。

喜歡中峇魯獨樹一幟的 #建築風格，是其他地方難得可見。
當時的英國建築師受到現代旅行的啟發，設計得像飛機、火車或渡輪，流線型線條展現現代化發展的美學。
這裡濃縮新加坡的歷史，有戰前和戰後的老房，新加坡第一座組屋，更有僅存的地下防空洞。
公園的雕像和魚尾獅竟然有關聯，曾經百姓們在bird corner 邊喝咖邊欣賞鸚鵡悅耳的鳴叫。

中峇魯的 #時髦餐廳 很多，有知名可頌的Tiong Bahru Bakery 或法式小酒館Merci Marcel。
但最喜歡的還是那座 #小販中心。就像外婆家，無論如何都會回去看看。
那裡有米其林推薦的中峇魯海南雞飯，香味四溢放很多菜脯的建柏水粿，青年創業的手工漢堡。當然不能錯過，飯後來一碗美祿恐龍紅豆冰。
美食凝聚著回憶，讓人一再流連往返。

每次來到這裡，都覺得有股神奇魔法。
喜歡這裡的不疾不徐，可以將匆忙的步調放緩，很舒服 ❤️

Today I visited 2 pre-war flats in Singapore. This country is known to be developed and modernized but if you go to Tiong Bahru, you will get to check out some of the oldest housing estates. Su and Ed showed me around their their flats that were made in the 1930s and 40s. These flats may be old, but they have taste and heritage. Wonder how it's like inside?
