你知道嗎？【英式英文少了那麼一點】

大家好，我是Mr Holiday。
以前在學英文的時候，應該都會學到縮寫吧？
老師會說縮寫之後要加一個句點吧？
例如說先生（Mister）縮寫之後就會變成Mr.。
但是其實要加點的是美式英文🇺🇸喔，英式英文🇬🇧是不加點的喔。
例如：
- 英式🇬🇧USA跟美式🇺🇸U.S.A.
- 英式🇬🇧UK跟美式🇺🇸U.K.
- 英式🇬🇧Dr跟美式🇺🇸Dr.
- 英式🇬🇧Ms跟美式🇺🇸Ms.
為什麼有這樣的差別呢？Mr Holiday目前找到的原因是：以前英國也是有加點的，只是有些字已經約定成俗，所以不加點大家也知道是什麼意思，所以後來就漸漸地縮寫一律不加點。如果有讀者找到其他的原因也請與我們分享喔！
Mr Holiday小時候是學英式英文的，所以如果讀者往回看我的文章，原則上都是不加點的Mr喔（會不會其實這個才是本日冷知識？）
