The programme contains many contrasts: the heavier first half features Chopin’s Piano Sonata No. 2 and “In the Mists”, written by Janáček some years after losing his daughter; the second half feels more relaxing with two brilliant works by Liszt, including the Mephisto Waltz No. 1, which challenges the pianist to the extreme. Some of these works were exactly what Rachel performed in her Carnegie Hall debut earlier this year, so this is going to be a wonderful treat to be able to listen to them here in Hong Kong.

張緯晴準備了一套極富對比的曲目。上半場較沉重，包括蕭邦第二鋼琴奏鳴曲，以及楊納傑克在痛失愛女多年後創作的〈在霧中〉；下半場則氣氛較輕鬆，張緯晴將彈奏李斯特兩首炫技之作，包括挑戰琴技極限的第一梅菲斯托圓舞曲。以上一些作品正是張緯晴年初於紐約卡內基音樂廳的首演曲目，本地樂迷無須舟車勞頓即可欣賞，實屬難得。
