【國立臺灣大學109學年度畢業典禮 致詞代表 心理學系林世峰】
Student Address, National Taiwan University Commencement 2021
Shih-Feng Lin from the Department of Psychology
.

President Kuan, distinguished guests, professors, parents, graduates, and friends on the screen, Hi! I am the valedictorian on behalf of graduates. I am Lin, Shih-Feng from the Department of Psychology.
The past transient four years brought me lasting remembrance. We made friends with classmates at Orientation Camp, searched for geese at Drunken Moon Lake, watched languid birds, Malayan Night Heron, on Zhoushan Road, biked to Wenzhou Street like a hipster and took a bite at the Lane 118. Although I dream that serene days live on, Covid-19 pandemic and the tragic loss of young lives suddenly happened. Hence, we have become the most puzzled and unique graduating class of 2021.
The events on campus were abruptly suspended. Online courses were augmented. The graduation prom and the feast at Palm Boulevard were cancelled. Even the onsite graduation ceremony and the banquet for thanking professors have become impossible but eternal regrets. One of my friends was forced to relinquish the opportunity to exchange abroad. And I could not fulfill my internship program of which I dream in Finland. Facing the disruption of planning and uncertainty as normalcy, we meet myriad challenges.
One day, I read a sentence written by James Carse in a second-hand bookstore on Wenzhou Street. To my astonishment, the philosopher categorizes human activities as two kinds of games. He said that "a finite game is played for the purpose of winning, an infinite game for the purpose of continuing the play.” All of a sudden, I realized that my struggling study arises from the trap of finite game. The limited learning like a sprint aims to prove superiority as means that we spare no effort to renew resume and acquire labels.
Reflecting back on one evening in my junior year, I accompanied third graders of high school who strived to prepare university entrance exam. I thought I could help answer their questions but eventually they said to me that “I felt aimless, exhausted, and suffocated…"“What is the purpose for learning indeed…?”
Right. Studying for exams and labels without inquiring into meaning and value could ensnare us within emptiness, exhaustion and pains. Therefore, I found NTU Avizure Education Club in partnership with peers from more than 20 departments. Students from over five universities including those from Hong Kong and Canada enter the community and guide middle and high schoolers to explore the meaning of learning and the value of self through application of what we have learned, leading to promising careers in the future.
While viewing the past and thinking of Finland, wasn’t it the ideal that I wish to accomplish after return to make learning more meaningful? The pandemic is an invisible stern teacher who teaches us to cherish each other in times of turmoil, to pursue dreams step by step in homeland, and to discover again. Learning is infinite grand journey embodied in a purpose, improving oneself to benefit others, exploring unknown, and creating value.
With joint endeavors of faculty and students, National Taiwan University today draws more attention to counseling resources. The Device of Epidemic Prevention No. 1, Azalea Festival online, and the University of Future project allow us as the most puzzled class to transform into the most unique and perseverant class with self-awareness. We firmly believe that anything that brings to the life gives meaning. Regardless of gradation and end of class, members of NTU would continue to consider and learn as well as proceed to accomplish in the infinite game of life. And the resonance of ringing the Full Bell in our mind never ceases.
I would like to extend my gratitude to professors, fellow classmates, family, friends, parents and grandparents in my path. Thank National Taiwan University for urging us to change. I expect each student and myself to transcend ourselves and to be compassionate toward others as active learners during trying times. We together create stories of common good and embrace the spirit to contribute to the universe. I am Lin, Shih-Feng. We are brave upon graduation. Thank you all.

How to Be Truly Wise?
“Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the expanse; and those who turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever. But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run back and forth, and knowledge shall be increased.”” (Daniel 12:2-4 WEB)
The Bible is clear that there is resurrection from the dead. Those who are born twice will only die once, whereas those who are only born once will die twice.
The righteous will be raised to enjoy eternal life in glorified bodies, whereas the wicked who reject Jesus Christ will be raised back from Hell at the end of time to receive a sentence of condemnation, before being cast into the lake of fire.
“Those who turn many to righteousness” refers to those who win souls for God’s kingdom through sharing the Gospel. Upon believing and confessing Jesus Christ as Lord, a person receives the righteousness of God, becoming as righteous as Jesus is.
Soul winners will shine (in honor and glory) as brightly as the firmament and as the stars within it. They are doing the most important work, for the salvation of mankind and the unification of God and man is God’s greatest desire!
Wisdom here is directly linked to winning souls, just as we see a similar idea in the Book of Proverbs:
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls.” (Proverbs 11:30 WEB)
It is wise to win souls because you will receive eternal rewards in return. There is no better use of your precious time than to share the Gospel, resulting in the salvation of souls. This activity has the largest return on investment for your time, benefiting God, others, and yourself.
The archangel Gabriel told Daniel that in the end times, “knowledge will be increased”. However, knowledge does not necessarily translate into wisdom.
The problem today is that there is so much knowledge available—both true and false. We are inundated with fake news, false doctrines, and so many distracting resources of knowledge that clamor for our attention.
The knowledge we must equip ourselves with is the knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ.
“Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,” (2 Peter 1:2 WEB)
As we grow in these, grace and shalom peace are multiplied unto us. There is no better use of your time, especially if you want to be used by God as a soul winner. Get into the Word every day. Through it, God will shape and train you to be effective at soul winning.
“Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 WEB)
Want to be wise? The Scriptures are the key to becoming wise in the godly way. The wise will shine brightly forever, and there is nothing more precious than godly wisdom. It makes Abba God so pleased to see you treasuring His wisdom!
What are eternal rewards? I don’t know of any other resource that talks about this topic, except for my book “Sandcastles Don’t Last Forever”. It was the first book I ever wrote, and it holds a special place in my heart. In these last days, the messages in this book are more relevant than ever, so I recommend that you read it: http://bit.ly/sandcastlesdontlastforever

Sometimes I feel that I am not the same as the world. I cherish that moment because I can be my own sun in this moment.
「stationery supermarket 」Half and half stamps of the Glue remover and Liquid paper, official website in January will be on the shelves. The glue remover looks like nail polish😂It's a great idea!
A while ago, I looked at web forum. Someone mentioned that “some people’s photos will only have the same stamp stamped several times in succession.” I thought about this sentence. Isn’t the original intention of the stamp thing quick and large Copy the same pattern? What's wrong with the creator's demonstration? I also use my stamps like this. It’s pretty cute haha ❤️
A poem written three times in a row will become a powerful poem.

## TRANSCRIPT E:
Alright this’s going to be a fun episode. It’s the first video that I speak English to my Vietnamese people - and heck, I’m not that ready to do this.
How can I talk to native English speakers with an accent. Will they judge?
By now you know that I’m not a native English speaker. I was born in Vietnam and only seriously learnt English in tenth grade or so. That’s why it’s naturally that I have an accent. It means that the way we talk is not as natural as native speakers do.
That’s why many of you DMed me and asked if people judge when you talk like this - or how I can talk confidently with an accent - I guess.
The answer is you - talk. Passionately. And don’t hold back.
But think about it. A lot of people say that they are not confident in speaking because they are afraid that people will judge them. They use it as an excuse to not learn English and speak in the first place.
Most people don’t even try. They keep thinking in their head that people will judge them. And they would never get better so they stop and they never learn.
So my friends, just talk. Talk passionately. Talk with all you have. There’s no how-to-talk tips or tricks. You just have to try. You just have to put yourself in the situation that you must talk. A lot. I guess that’s the secret. You must put yourself in situations that you must talk, a lot!
Let me give you a few examples.
Back in high school, I enrolled in this TOEFL class and every other day, the teacher would ask us to listen to tapes of conversations in English. I listened to them then write them down word, by word, by word. We literally use the cassette player because the teacher was kind of old-school cool that way. I had this big-ass SONY cassette player and every day I would tick … tick przz. Then in class, he would make round. Each of us will speak out loud, in front of the class each sentence.
But I knew that each session, I could only speak probably five or six times. That’s not enough. So I asked the teacher, if he could spent a few minutes each session to review a tape in which I pre-record all the conversations of that class.
That’s one way I did it. I put myself in the situation that I was held accountable by the teacher, that every session, I would submit my speaking cassette to him. And he was so kind to expect that and spend the time to help me. But here’s the thing, most people don’t ask. Most people don’t put in the work.
Another example,
All the years I was in college, each semester I would have a Math class with this specific professor that I like so much. But in the first period of my entire college life, he talked so fast with a lot of terminologies that I had no clues what they mean.
I was confused and overwhelmed so at the end of the period, I stayed and wanted to approach him to ask how I could do better. Would I be able to catch up with this class. And it took me seriously nearly five minutes just to go and talk to him because heck I was afraid that he would judge me, right?
But I forced myself to go talk to him and ask for his help. And he said I would be just fine. Go get this book and do some readings and he would help me as well.
The way he taught was so cool. He made each Math problem as an opportunity for students to present the solution in front the class. And guess what I did?
I knew that I would be shied. I knew that I was scared. I knew that I spoke terribly and I had an accent. I knew that I’m afraid that the whole class would judge because of my accent.
this. I’m still trying to get better. That’s why till this day, I record myself teaching something, speaking if not every day then every week.
You just have to talk. A lot. Every day.

Here is an English cover of "Kimi ni Todoke" by Japanese band flumpool. It was the theme song for the 2010 movie of the same name.
I have been getting a lot of requests for this song for a while, so I finally decided to give it a try. It was fun to translate into English and play around with the words (as always!), but it was a bit challenging to actually sing it with my vocal range, so the vocals aren't my best :-$
Also, there were a few places where it was hard to tell if the subject was "you" or "me" (Japanese doesn't always use a subject in each sentence), so please understand that this translation is just my interpretation :) Hope you like it!

Oh, the way you look at me
With your eyes, precious and round
And your hands so small
And voice, a playful nasal sound
When you smile a smile so rare
I know I’m lucky to view
Yeah, you make another dream
I dreamed that day come true
Why do I find myself desiring
The happiness of everyone that passes by me?
Want to share my joy with all the world
Honestly, the day that we met
I can say it truly was the best in a while
And I want to protect that enchanting smile
Every day my feelings will grow
Which every coming year ‘til we are old
Want you to know how I really feel inside
I won’t hide the words only I can say
And hope that, now, they can find their way
Straight into your heart
There are times you want to run
And times you cry or break down
There are argument and always
Something to worry about
But you keep on walking forward
In your own special way
Underneath the sunlight pouring through the trees
You’re lovely
As lies and jealousy surround me, I won’t stray
Oh steady heart, please help to ground me
For I just have one simple wish
And now I am closing my eyes
Picturing a future by your side and I can see
That incredible smile that you showed to me
There’s one thing, just one thought that stays
On my mind forever and always
I love you so much I can’t keep it in
As I spin the words that I’ll only say
To you alone, may they find their way
Straight into your heart
And no matter how many sides of you I see
Maybe I’m overstating what I mean
But every one of them makes my heart skip a beat
And I wanna hold you tight
And if you were filled up inside with a sadness
I would go to your side to comfort you
I’d be there in the blink of an eye
Hear these words, the words that I shout
That I could not say to you ‘til now: “I love you”
Now I sing it aloud straight into your heart

Allen Iverson scored 17 points in the first quarter against the Orlando Magic. He barely slowed down thereafter.
Iverson finished with a career- and NBA season-high 60 points as the Philadelphia 76ers posted a 112-99 triumph over the Magic, who lost for the 14th time in 17 road games.
Iverson became the 18th different player to score 60 points in a game. The last to do so was Tracy McGrady, who had 62 for Orlando against Washington last March 10.
"I've never witnessed a performance like this in person," Philadelphia coach Jim O'Brien said. "This is the greatest performance that I've ever witnessed. I think we are witnessing one of the great careers in the NBA, put on by one of the most talented, tough and big-hearted guys that you'll ever see on the basketball court.
"I think we should all enjoy this while Allen is still in the NBA. I sure am enjoying coaching him."
A three-time scoring champ who entered this one leading the league at 29.0 points per game, including two with at least 50, Iverson staked the 76ers to a 31-22 edge after one quarter. He added 12 points in the second period to help open a 62-44 cushion at the break.
"I just felt that I was in real good rhythm," Iverson said. "The craziest thing about it, it wasn't a jump-shooting rhythm. It was just constantly attacking all night long. That's what I did and I guess that's why I went to the free-throw line as much as I did."
After Orlando reduced a 25-point third-quarter deficit to 82-71 on a jumper by Pat Garrity with six seconds left in the period, Iverson nailed a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to give him 40 points entering the fourth. He has six 40-point games this season and 56 in his career.
"I didn't settle for jump shots," Iverson said. "(Orlando) decided to play me one-on-one during the game and I just made them pay for it. I asked them, 'When are you going to trap me?' and they had a blank look on their faces and didn't answer. I assumed that they didn't know what to do at that point."
Iverson, who made 17-of-36 shots and 24-of-27 free throws, reached 50 points when he sank the first of a pair of free throws with 5:27 left. He matched his previous career high of 58 points - set vs. Houston on January 17, 2002 - with two free throws with 2:53 remaining, then reached the 60-point threshold on another pair from the line with 1:07 to play.
"It feels good right now," Iverson said. "Just knowing that we won the basketball game is the most important thing. I scored a career high and we won the game, that's how you draw it up in your dreams."
"He put relentless pressure on our defense, and then when he wasn't shooting free throws, he did hit some baskets," Orlando coach Johnny Davis said. "We tried to make a game of it late, but Iverson for sure controlled the game tonight. When we made a stretch run at him, he took over again, and made the baskets they had to have to keep their momentum going."
Iverson also became just the second player in franchise history to score 60 points in a game. The other was Wilt Chamberlain, who did it three times with the team. The last time was on December 16, 1967, when he scored 68 vs. Chicago.
"When you talk to me and mention Wilt Chamberlain in the sentence with me, I don't have any more words after that," Iverson said. "You mention somebody who is six feet, 165 pounds soaking wet and somebody seven some feet. That says a lot about the coaches that I've had in my career, the teammates that I've played with, and the family and friends that helped me get to this point. It's a tribute to the people that helped me get here and believed in me."
Steve Francis collected 32 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists for Orlando, which beat Philadelphia on January 22, 115-111, overcoming 38 points by Iverson.
