🇳🇵尼泊爾是一個歷史非常悠久的國家，上個禮拜才過了尼泊爾年曆2074年的新年(通常是在西曆的四月中旬) 。
在西元前，加德滿都河谷一帶就有人居住，這時期由克拉地王朝(公元前800年-公元後300年)統治了約1225年，期間共有29個國王。
也就是在這個期間，尼泊爾社會、經濟、文化全面發展，政權重視發展商貿業，與藏地、印度、斯里蘭卡建有貿易關係，經濟發展和佛教的傳播提升了人們的宗教、道德、藝術水平，許多文化、經濟中心城鎮得以建立。
這天我們到達加德滿都的杜巴廣場，杜巴就是王宮的意思，所以在帕坦跟巴克塔布也都有杜巴廣場，這三個古城被聯合國文教組織收錄為世界遺產(Kathmandu Valley) 。
尼泊爾於1768年統一之後才結束了加德滿都谷地三城分地割據的狀態。
加德滿都的杜巴廣場，歷史可上溯至公元十二世紀，但以16-19世紀的建築為主。這些建築從中世紀以來便維持原有的形式。
包含了Kumari Bahal(活女神廟) ，加德滿都的Kumari女神,是尼泊爾最重要的一位女神, 每天12時和下午4時，庫瑪里女神會身著特有的紅色服裝，頭戴銀飾，出現在窗口，供遊客們瞻仰，在樓下會擠滿著想看女神的人們，他們相信活女神能保佑尼泊爾國王和人民，給人們帶來和平和繁榮。
還有 Kastha Mandap(木屋), Ashok Binayak神廟跟Maju Deval神廟。
另一邊則是舊皇宮Hanuman Dhoka，就是尼泊爾的故宮(Tribhuvan Museum），是尼泊爾收藏最豐富的博物館。 一個蓋上紅披肩的「猴神」 Hanuman 守衛在門口, 是尼泊爾神話當中神通廣大,楊善除惡的代表。
杜巴廣場裡有一尊雕像，圍滿了人群，他是濕婆神的化身之一，稱黑貝拉伯(佛教稱大黑天) 。有著憤怒的臉，六隻手臂，手中分別持有寶劍，敵人的頭顱和法器，腳踏屍體，很多人到黑貝拉伯前祭拜。
遊 Durbar Square 不能錯過欣賞各建築物上的雕刻、柱廊和尼泊爾很有名的窗框雕刻裝飾，各式各樣的神像也很有特色。
另一個廣場 Basantapur Square（巴山塔布廣場）不是古廟建築，而是售賣各式紀念品的市集，有時還會舉行大型活動。因為地震的關係，杜巴廣場有些建築已經倒塌，有些正在修復當中，期望不久的將來，能夠見到她修復好，完整的樣貌!

博拿佛塔Boudhanath Stupa是尼泊爾最大佛教建築，超過1500年歷史，已列入世界文化遺產名單中。Taleju Temple建於1564年，有三層屋頂和十二層基座，是尼泊爾皇室的專用寺廟。Kal Bhairav又稱大黑天，是破壞神濕婆最可怕的化身。哈努曼猴神宮Hanuman Dhoka就是舊皇宮，Basantapur Square裡面都是地攤。
