TERBANG BERSAMA MDB (SIRI 81)

Masa Berlepas Pelik

Walaupun saya kerap terbang & tidak ada masalah jet lag, satu perkara saya tidak tahan ialah masa penerbangan antara pukul 2 pagi hingga 7 pagi. Inilah masa paling mencabar.

Kalau boleh saya ingin elakkan masa sebegini. Tapi tak mungkin saya dapat atasi semua ini. Lebih teruk lagi kalau penerbangan sampai ke sesuatu destinasi sudah hampir tengah malam & kemudian akan sambung penerbangan jam 5 atau 6 pagi. Maknanya, saya sudah kena berada di airport sekitar jam 330 pagi. Maknanya juga kena bangun & siapkan diri jam 3 pagi. Ahhh...ini yang paling menyiksa minda & badan.

Banyak pengalaman sebenar. Saya sampai di Dubai dari KL jam 11 malam. Saya keluar tidur di hotel sekejap. Saya kena ambil Turkish Airline ke Istanbul jam 5 pagi kerana ada mesyuarat penting pukul 10 pagi waktu Istanbul. Saya kena bangun tidur jam 3 pagi. Bila bangun tidur, saya lupa diri saya sendiri buat seketika. Blank. Minda tak sempat reset. Tak tahu siapa saya, kenapa saya berada di sini & apa yang perlu saya buat. Badan & minda amat letih. Sebelum saya datang ke Dubai, saya berada di Korea beberapa hari. Tenaga dah habis. Tambah lagi dengan masa penerbangan ke Istanbul yang pelik. Saya hampir nak terus sambung tidur semula bila kembali sedar siapa saya. Saya dah tak kisah kerja resmi. Lantak. Minda hampir koyak.

Di sinilah kekuatan minda amat penting. Penerbangan saya banyak mengajar saya tiga perkara: pengurusan masa optimum, bersabar & kecekalan minda. Saya terus bangun. Mandi dengan air panas. Solat dua rakaat. Pakai baju travel. Kemas barang & bag. Ambil teksi. Check in. Boarding. Kena ikut flow kalau nak berjaya dalam kehidupan.

Insiden kedua berlaku di lounge di Istanbul. Penerbangan ke Munich pukul 3 pagi. Saya terlelap semasa transit. Bila terbangun, jam sudah menunjukkan pukul 2.35 pagi. Saya terus berlari sekuat mungkin ke pintu berlepas. Berpeluh2. Nama saya berkumandang di dalam airport. Famous. Nasib baik sempat.

Lebih teruk lagi bila ini semua berlaku di musim sejuk below zero. Ini berlaku di Almaty, Kazakhtan. Flight jam 4 pagi balik ke Dubai. Cuaca freezing. Mata mengantuk. (Foto bersama rakan2 dari Amanie).

After a few days of digesting the news, I am
feeling calm and at peace with myself. I’ve accepted the fact that I have covid-19.

I found out via a pre-boarding PCR test, before my flight to go to Canada to see my parents for the summer.

Since the pandemic started in Taiwan in mid May, I have been staying home with the children. I only went out 3 times in 3 weeks, and each time with mask on for the whole time. I washed my hands and disinfected frequently. I was being careful. So you can imagine my shock when I was told that my PCR was positive. It felt surreal.

Fortunately, my family are all well. They are all under quarantine, with no symptoms.
I am staying at a quarantine hotel, having time to reflect and rest up. I started to feel this is truly a blessing in disguise, for me to discover that I got it so I could isolate myself from others.

If there is any message from my experience, I urge everyone not only to stay home and take all preventive measures, but also do everything you can to boost your own immune system. Eat well, rest well, stay calm, be positive. Never under estimate this virus. Just because you are careful doesn’t mean you cannot possibly be a carrier, so protect those around you. We can get through this.

Lastly a big thank you to all medical and essential workers at the frontline. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

【國泰航空推出來往月球定期航班】
Cathay Pacific launches scheduled flights to Moon

#國泰航空 今天宣布開辦香港每日來往月球航班。航線目前仍在試航階段，現時只供馬可孛羅會金卡以上級別會員預訂，航班起飛前需提交48小時內檢測陰性或注射疫苗證明才可登機。

新航線由SpaceX星艦 (Starship) 飛船營運，備有兩款客艙級別以供選擇。國泰航空目前機隊擁有3架Starship飛船，並有32架準備交付。國泰航空將首架Starship飛船命名為「志在飛躍號」，象徵國泰航空品牌積極求進的精神。

新航線除了讓世界各地的旅客，更便捷地到訪神秘的月球，亦為月球及鄰近星球居民提供更多選擇，搭乘國泰航空的航班，經香港樞紐前往宇宙各地。

SpaceX 行政總裁在社交網站發文表示歡迎，並期待其他航空公司仿效，發展太空旅遊。

#志在飛躍

Cathay Pacific is launching a new scheduled passenger service between Hong Kong and the Moon starting 1 April 2021.

The flight is currently within-trial and is only open for reservations for Gold or above Marco Polo Club members.

Passengers must provide proof of the negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours or COVID-19 vaccination before boarding.

The flight is operated by its #Starship Spacecraft manufactured by #SpaceX. There are a total of 3 Starship Spacecraft in Cathay Pacific's fleet and 32 in order. The inaugural flight will be operated by the Starship Spacecraft named "Move Beyond" to symbolise Cathay Pacific's values: Progressive, Thoughtful, Can-Do Spirit.

The inaugural of the flight has not only provided more options for travellers around the globe but also residents living in the Moon and nearby more options of travelling, onboard Cathay Pacific through Hong Kong towards other places in the universe.

The CEO of SpaceX said in his tweet that he was blessed by the flight and look forward to seeing more airlines starting flights between the Earth and other parts of Space to promote Space travel.
