BTS將為即將上映的電影版『信號：長期未解決事件搜查班』演唱主題曲「Film out」，這首由日本人氣樂團back number提供樂曲，BTS成員JUNG KOOK參與製作的作品發行消息公開後，伴隨著全球樂迷的期待，終於在3月26日驚喜公開新曲MV預告，並宣布將在4月2日全球同步上架，同時也宣布將在6月16日發行收錄包含歷代歌曲共計23曲的日文精選輯『BTS, THE BEST』!
才剛獲得「第63屆葛萊美獎」的BEST POP DUO /GROUP PERFORMANCE提名，在頒獎典禮表演人氣曲「Dynamite」而引起話題的BTS，將於6月16日發行蒐羅了從2017年起約4年半的期間，在日本發行過的作品所集結成的精選輯『BTS, THE BEST』。
一起來回顧從2017到2021年至今，讓眾人看見其卓越亮眼成長的BTS在日本的活動，與在海外的主要活動吧！
在2017年5月的日本第七張單曲「血、汗、涙」發行後，從同年六月起開始的巡迴，光是日本就在六個都市表演了十三場公演，總共動員了14萬5千人。在同年的Billboard Music Award中也榮獲了「Top Social Artist獎」，作為第一個K-Pop團體得到這份獎項的殊榮，BTS在美國首次參加音樂頒獎典禮同時也在那一刻劃下了他們自己新的歷史扉頁。12月時在日本發行了第八張單曲「MIC Drop/DNA/Crystal Snow」，其中所收錄的日本原創曲「Crystal Snow」也作為聖誕節活動形象曲備受大眾喜愛。
2018年時，發行了收錄包含日本原創曲「Let Go」以及日劇『信號：長期未解決事件搜查班』主題曲「Don’t Leave Me」的專輯『FACE YOURSELF』。而韓國同年五月發行的『LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ‘Tear'』也作為韓國以及全亞洲史上第一個榮獲‘Billboard 200'第一名的團體，震撼了這個音樂業界。同年11月舉辦了全球巡迴(World Tour)的日本公演「BTS WORLD TOUR 'LOVE YOURSELF'~JAPAN EDITION~」，實現了從出道起就作為“夢想”的東京巨蛋舞台，並發行成了“永久保存版”的影像化商品。
2019年他們繼續再大躍進，先是在2019Billboard Music Award出演，並榮獲了Top Duo/Group獎以及Top Social Artist獎等兩個部門的獎項，並與Halsey(海爾希)表演了「Boy With Luv feat. Halsey」，於2019全美音樂獎、第61回葛萊美獎都相繼出席。7月在日本舉行了體育館巡迴，4場公演共動用了21萬人。同年7月發行了第九張單曲「Lights/Boy With Luv」，並在之後得到了日本唱片協會2019年7月度作為百萬銷售量作品的「金唱片認定」。 這項單曲的百萬銷售認定，不但是海外男性藝人/團體(Artist)的第一次．上次榮獲單曲百萬銷售認定的男藝人，也已經睽違11年11個月。
2020年，由於全世界受到前所未有的新型冠狀肺炎襲擊，使得原本預定中的全球巡迴延期，而BTS向全世界送出的”在大家都很艱辛的時期裡，希望可以送給大家活力跟希望的話語”為概念而誕生的「Dynamite」歌曲，開始在全世界掀起熱潮，更在美國Billboard“HOT100”(9月5日)首次登場就獲得排行榜第一名的紀錄。在日本也數位串流突破3億，其人氣持續擴散，超越了世代。而同年7月在日本發行了收錄包含電影「想見你的愛」主題曲「Your eyes tell」以及電視劇「螺旋的迷宮～DNA科學捜査～」主題曲「Stay Gold」的專輯『MAP OF THE SOUL : 7 ~ THE JOURNEY ~』。今年3月所發表的「第35回日本金唱片大賞」也榮獲了「年度專輯」(亞洲)以及「BEST 3 專輯」(亞洲)等，這是海外藝人首次榮獲8項獎項。
訂在6月16日發行的精選輯『BTS, THE BEST』首次收錄了在日本4月2日上映的電影版『信號：長期未解決事件搜查班』主題曲「Film out」，這是成員JUNG KOOK參與製作，並與樂團back number合作的日本原創曲。「Film out」是一首把對於至今眼前都會浮現的那個人以及無法從心中抹去的那個人的想念，搭配著美麗旋律，深植於聽眾心底的抒情歌。另外也會收錄「Dynamite」、從2017年起的日本單曲以及專輯收錄曲等共23首歌，毫無疑問是喜愛著BTS的所有人們能夠一次收藏享受其中的最棒作品。另外，初回限定盤A/B將收錄共6首的MV集，以及從「血、汗、涙 -Japanese ver.-」到「Film out」的MV拍攝幕後花絮。本作更首次收錄有過去單曲發行時沒有收錄過的未公開場景，所以絕對是必入手超珍貴一張作品，台灣環球音樂也將帶來官方進口盤發行，樂迷們敬請期待。
