疫情期間在紐約可能還有許多華裔移民因為語言關係對於要如何去登記施打疫苗或是到疫苗施打場地時不得其門而入。在紐約有一群年輕朋友組成的義工組織「翻譯苗(Chinese Translation Pot)」都在幫助這些需要語言協助華人，讓他們能順利施打COVID-19疫苗。隨著現在紐約已經開放所有成年人可以登記施打，50歲以上的民眾也可以隨時walk-in不用先登記，「翻譯苗」也需要更多的翻譯志工加入。目前在Elmhusrt的Queens Center Mall以及在Flushing的South Asian Council for Social Service Pop-Up這兩個地方需要翻譯志工。有興趣的朋友可以到文末兩的連結登記或是知道有誰願意幫忙可以幫忙傳遞這訊息。

We’ve partnered with a number of vaccination sites across the city, most recently the Queens Mall (formerly Modell’s) as we as the South Asian Council for Social Services pop-up vaccination site. Both sites are in need of volunteers especially during the weekdays. If you could help us spread the word with your network of followers that’d be wonderful. We are just grateful to have anyone in the community able to volunteer their time and effort, and help get our city vaccinated.
