In front of a mini market, there he was, meowing, in a need of food. He came around me, friendly, and I pet him, gave him some love. I went back inside the mini market and get him a pack of wet food.

There was no bowl or container, so I spread the food on the newspaper and flyer that I found nearby. He looked up at me, meowed, like he said thank you, and continued eating. He was so hungry, and his back was injured. The injury resembles a curve, as if someone hit him with an edgy tool. I might be wrong. God knows.

I shared this because no matter where you see a stray cat or dog, that little being is struggling for food, water, shelter, love and so much more. Some tend to close one eye when a cat lingers at their feet, and meowing for food, or worse, some also kick or slap them. Some tend to run away, scold, throw something, or hit this poor little being when they see a stray dog approaching them and sit nicely near them, where the dog mean no harm. Some might have traumatic experience with animals, allergies, and so forth. There are plenty of reasons of someone not liking something or anything in their life, and it can be very personal for some.

But I do believe, no matter how much you hate a being, avoid yourself from tormenting these beings. Avoid scolding, yelling, hitting, and all the bad possible thing that can happen. They are here in this world, to live like us. They never ask to be on the streets, just like the homeless, and extreme poor people who live on the street. °
We don't know their stories. We don't know their real struggles. There's a difference between sympathy and empathy. Let's be more emphatic in our lives. Put ourselves in the shoes of others, perhaps we will understand better than we were yesterday. This includes, in the shoes of a stray, the homeless and the poor.
