【還沒老，就要打算學到老】
我在上週於歐洲啤酒之星擔任評審的行程結束之後，從慕尼黑直奔波爾多，這回是為了參加波爾多大學與國立葡萄種植與釀造科學研究院合辦的品飲課程。今天是開學日，天還沒亮就已經出門。搭上公車到了波爾多近郊，在昏暗的天色中，繼續步行十五分鐘才到學校。
兩個小時的講堂再加上一個小時的品飲，這趟為期一年的法國留學之旅，就這樣正式開始了。班上的同學們幾乎都是法國人，也幾乎都是波爾多的酒業人士——Domaine de Chevalier與Château Cheval Blanc兩座知名的酒莊也都指派員工前來進修。
教授在台上以法語授課，讓我想到十五年前在巴黎高等政治學院當交換生的回憶。然而，這回卻很不一樣——現在台上講述的是我的專業，不再有政治學與經濟學，而且在酒類領域，我的法語已經超過十五年前的自己。現在我能聽得懂課堂講到的每一個術語與重點，甚至可以在自我介紹時，逗得班上四十幾位同學哈哈大笑。當我在台灣替法國食品協會SOPEXA作即席口譯時，感覺還沒那麼強烈。如今回到學生的身份坐在台下，每個字都能聽懂，那種戒慎卻又滿足的感覺，只有親身體會才能知道。
放學之後，一整個下午待在科研院的圖書館裡讀書，面對落地窗前的整片葡萄園，有種恍若隔世的錯覺。老師在課堂上說，在我們的圖書館裡，你會以為自己是皇帝。但是我不想當皇帝，在我這個年齡，能夠再次當個海外留學生，比當皇帝好多了。
【Back to school.】
I took a flight to Bordeaux right after judging at European Beer Star last week at Munich. This time I gonna stay one year at the “World Capital of Wine” to be student again, for a wine tasting program called DUAD, or “University diploma of wine tasting competence”, organized by University of Bordeaux and ISVV, the National Institute of Vine growing and Wine Making Sciences, kind of researchers’ center.
The program started early the morning. I took a bus to the township Villenave d’Ornon and had a nice walk to the researcher’s center when it was still dark. Two hours sitting in an amphitheater and an hour’s tasting in a world-class tasting room had nothing to do with my experiences of being a foreign student at Sciences Po 15 years ago, however, it still reminded me of sitting in the classroom listening to professor giving the class in French. The difference is that now I understand each word of what’s going on, and it’s all about wine, no more politics or economics taught in French.
I spent an afternoon in the library, studying in front, or better put, in the midst of the vineyards. It just feels like you are the king of this universe. However, I don’t expect to be king. At this age, being able to be back to school, it’s a sheer bliss.
