4. ⚡️Bliss
After I had Andrew, my life was filled with happiness and love. For four years, there were nothing but failure and frustration. Somehow, in the end, there was the most precious thing waiting for me-my baby. I thank the Almighty, or whoever that granted my wish, it’s a bliss and I will never regret the path that led me to him.
Every morning, I would walk wobbly with the help of my cane, to Andrew’s room. His eyes wide open, his mouth searching for food like a baby chick, I could watch him all day, still dazzled by the fact that this baby was mine. He was an angel, he cooed and smiled, seldom cried. The Aunty that was here to take care of us said, your baby’s here for a good cause.
In reality, I have to thank Andrew for choosing me as his mom. Although it requires courage and braveness, but he still gave me the chance to become a “mother”. His being here, gave us bliss and light.
“My dearest Andrew, daddy and mommy will love you with all our might, just like you chose us without turning back.”
My love was overfilling, I was still getting to know this little fellow, but two weeks later, I returned to VGH (name of my hospital) for another spine surgery, just two weeks after my C-Section. My legs were failing me again, even with the cane I had a hard time walking. I stayed 3 weeks in the hospital, for the surgery and physiotherapy.
This is nothing compared to the pain that drenched my heart, I have a newborn at home.
I had one goal, one goal only, go home and hold my baby.
Today's translated cover is an English cover of "Kanade" by Japanese duo Sukima Switch. This is a very well-known song in Japan! The word "kanade" comes from the verb "kanaderu" which means "to play" (an instrument) or "to perform."
