三年前,我們踏上了一段旅程,到台灣各個角落向大家傳達一個簡單的訊息,那就是:台灣最好的朋友莫過於美國。旅途中,我們對台灣有更深刻的認識,也結交了無數的朋友,而我們自己也樂在其中。我們很高興這段期間有那麼多朋友(超過97,000人)在臉書上陪伴我們,希望你們能從中對美國有新的發現,甚至莞爾一笑。常有人問我,如何保持我們FB粉絲頁生動有趣。告訴你,就像老美說的,「需要一村子人」的群策群力。特別感謝前AIT發言人游詩雅做好通盤的內容管理,並跟AIT同事協調請他們客串出場。感謝Jewel、Henry、Oligo、Kathy、Jerry投入大量的精力和心血,讓我們的粉絲頁及時又有看頭。另一個大家常問的問題是,我的中文竟能寫得如此流暢。其實負責把我笨拙的英文昇華為美妙中文的,是我們AIT的優秀口譯員Janice Tsai。很多人都不敢相信,原來我們的貼文並非一開始就用中文寫的,其翻譯的功力可見一斑。至於我們到各地出遊留下的倩影,還有出席各種有趣活動的靚照,掌鏡的不是別人,正是我太太Kathy Chen陳舲舲。最後要回答一個大家最常提出的問題──沒錯,只要有我「梅健華」三個字署名的貼文,都是在下敝人我自己寫的。你們的留言,我個人不僅一一拜讀,也是我們同仁汲取靈感的泉源。我們由衷地感謝大家! --- 梅健華 #FromAITDirector
Three years ago, we embarked on a journey to every corner of Taiwan to deliver a simple message: Taiwan has no better friend than the United States. We learned a lot about Taiwan, met countless fascinating people, and had a lot of fun along the way. We were elated that so many of you (more than 97,000, actually) kept us company on Facebook for the duration of the ride, and I hope that you discovered a few things about America and had a few laughs, to boot. I’m often asked how we kept our page fresh and interesting. Well, it takes a village, as they say. Special thanks go to former AIT spokesman Sonia Urbom for overall content management and coordinating guest appearances by AIT colleagues. Thanks to Jewel, Henry, Oligo, Kathy, and Jerry for all of the energy you invested in making our posts great-looking and timely. Another frequent question I get is about the beautiful Mandarin language in our posts. AIT’s extraordinary interpreter Janice Tsai was responsible for elevating my clunky English to sublime Chinese. Many people couldn’t believe that our posts did not originate in Chinese – that’s how superb the translations were. As for the fine photographs of our travels around the island and beautifully composed shots of fun events, that was none other than my wife, Kathy Chen, behind the lens. And finally, the answer to the most frequent question of all is: yes, it was yours truly authoring each post that bore my initials “km.” We really appreciated all of your comments. I read them religiously and they were a source of inspiration to our entire team…km

The 4th season of the popular TV show "Qui sera le prochain grand pâtissier?" on FRANCE 2 has premiered on 29th August, right after "la rentrée" while everyone in France gets back to work. This show not only scouted many talented young pastry chefs ever since its 1st episode aired in 2013, but also helped demystify and promote the profession. Great pastry chefs are now celebrities thanks to this program and many other media exposures.
9 candidates are participating in a series of competitions this season, 2 of whom are my former colleagues and supervisors when I interned at Hotel Le Meurice back in 2014. I've been looking forward to the show since I knew that they take part in it. Although the chef Christophe Michalak and Philippe Urraca are no longer the judges, Claire Heitzler, one of my favorite female chefs has joined the team. I'm sure it'll be as great as the past 3 seasons.

隨著暑假結束、法國的大家都回到工作崗位,也有很多新節目開播,最受矚目的其中之一便是緊張刺激的專業甜點競賽節目「Qui sera le prochain grand pâtissier?」(〈誰是下一個甜點大師?〉。昨晚該節目播出第一集。自從開播以來,該節目便成了培養年輕明星甜點師的搖籃,不僅能在比賽中看到令人驚豔的甜點作品與技巧、更會為法國深厚的甜點文化嘆服。
這一季有九位令人期待的參賽者,其中兩位Eunji Lee - Qui Sera Le Prochain Grand Pâtissier?與Léandre Vivier - Qui sera le prochain grand pâtissier ?是我以前在Le Meurice實習時的同事、也非常照顧我。其中Eunji是節目開播以來唯一的亞裔女生、也是第一位從海外回來法國參賽的參賽者。還沒開播前我與幾位前同事就期待不已,也一直為他們兩位加油;節目開播後更期待看到他們與其他參賽者的表現。這一季換了評審(Christophe Michalak與Philippe Urraca退出、Claire
Heitzler加入)與主持人,相信會擦出許多有趣的火花。

The 4th season of the popular French TV competition show "Qui sera le prochain grand pâtisser?" ("Who's the next great pastry chef?") is going to air very soon this summer. As usual, the program has recruited talented candidates and expects to present to its audience exciting competitions. Two of my ex-colleagues at Le Meurice have participated and both are excellent pastry chefs. Eunji Lee, currently the head pastry of restaurant Jungsik 정식당, New York, and the former chef-de-partie at Le Dali back then, is the first Asian candidate as well as the first one who participates from overseas. Léadre Vivier, my ex-supervisor at tour section, has won the bronze medal of "Championnat Européen du Sucre" (European Championship of Sugar) at Sirha ((Le Salon international de la restauration, de l'hôtellerie et de l'alimentation)) earlier this year. There's also a familiar face, Louis Taine, the head pastry chef of the pastry shop Les Belles Envies in Paris. I've seen him in a workshop held by my school Ferrandi Paris, Gastronomie - F&B - Hospitality management in March.
I really can't wait to see the show (although I already knew who the winners are, shhh....🤐), and I hope that you'll all enjoy it as much as I definitely will!

我曾在專欄中特別介紹過的法國高水準甜點競賽節目《Qui sera la prochain grand pâtissier?》即將播出第四季。本季的參賽者實力堅強,其中有兩位是我以前在@Le Meurice的同事,一位是Eunji Lee,當時待我很好、也教我很多的達利廳小組長、目前是紐約@Jungsik餐廳的甜點主廚。她也是節目中首位亞洲女生、而且是第一位從海外回到巴黎參加的參賽者。另一位則是Léandre Vivier,是以前帶我一起在tour(負責烘烤)工作,負責各種蛋糕、塔皮、以及petits fours的製作。他也是今年在里昂的Sirha舉辦的歐洲盃糖工藝冠軍賽(Championnat Européen du Sucre)銅牌得主。還有一位面熟的臉孔,則是現在巴黎專門製作無人工添加糖甜點的甜點店Les Belles Envies的主廚Louis Taine。
雖然我已經知道最後冠亞軍得主是誰,但是仍然對比賽過程非常興奮且好奇,希望八月節目播出時大家能一起收看、為各位參賽者加油😁
