We made it to Sakura Matsuri at @gardensbythebay just before it ended tonight. It's not often that we visit the domes at night, the chill air and rare peace that surrounded us tonight was a good reminder of the ephemeral beauty of the cherry blossoms - and life itself.
It was nice having the grandparents with us too and on the way home, the hubby was talking about how they brought him to Japan for holidays when he was a kid. I saw the look of wonder and admiration in the big girl's eyes, even though she didn't voice it out loud because she knows family holidays are always a luxury for us. Well, bringing the trio to the Land of the Rising Sun sounds like a dream too good to come true, but we'll slowly work towards that and hopefully one day save up enough for it.
I guess the best part was hearing this line from her, "Mummy, next time when I go out to work and earn money, I bring u and Papa go for holiday." A good way to conclude a rough week I've had with this tween and a reminder of how fast she is growing, both physcially and emotionally too.
