Sweet-faced Limaran was a bit shy when I said I wanted to shoot her in a bikini, but she sportingly did it. I just wanted to show a different side of her from her usual Instagram pics. Limaran was a netball player and started going to the gym in 2009 on her own because of vanity reasons, as she felt guilty from all the junk food she ate.
When she started dating her husband Jason, she joined him at the gym to spend more time with him and now, they still hit the gym every day (together as much as they can). Even when they go on holidays, they will choose their accommodation based on the availability of nearby gyms.
She said: "Many women are still hesitant to start working out and to do weight training because they are so afraid to build muscles. Even for men who don’t work out, they think likewise and discourage their partners and spouses against working out.
Also, many people still do not know that muscles and fats are non-convertible! They often use that as an excuse to not start working out with the fear that their “muscles” will turn saggy and into fats when they stop working out.
You’ve got to learn to understand your body well, love your body and then do what is best for your body. Start slow and gradual, be consistent and never give up just because you don’t see progress! Consistency is KEY!
