2012年12月7日，時任駐美代表 #金溥聰，在美國華府代表政府，向美國慈善機構捐贈130萬美元，救助珊迪颶風受災民眾，美方政府官員和國會議員均出席致意，表達感謝。
為表達台美雙邊友好關係，金溥聰代表政府，致贈聯合勸募全球（United Way Worldwide）和國際安居計畫（Habitat for Humanity International）兩間大型慈善機構各50萬美元，此外，也捐助 #紐約市、#紐約州 和 #新澤西州 各10萬美元慰問金。合計捐出130萬美元，援助災民重建。
金溥聰說，台灣是以感恩的心做這件事，當年 #莫拉克颱風來襲 造成損害，#美國在台灣最需要的時刻，儘速伸出援手，#不但提供金援，#還派遣救難隊、#直升機到台灣，協助災區善後救助，令人非常感動。

等等，話說2012年，不就是 #國民黨執政時期，也早躍居 #亞洲四小龍之列，也是李德維說的，台灣很爭氣，早已脫貧、人民富足的年代，當時怎麼好意思還接受美方金援與各種救助呢？

For the 30th anniversary of Fairfield by Marriott, I got to join the hotel team of Fairfield by Marriott, Kathmandu and international press to help Habitat for Humanity Nepal with building two new houses. Here is the original house that partially collapsed during the 2015 earthquake.

What an eye-opening experience that morning, being at my first Habitat build and seeing people from all walks of life come together for one common good!
