I may not be well-versed in Islam and it's teachings, nor read or understand Jawi, but I do believe in God and the power of prayer.
The first thing I was taught upon my conversion was how to solat. Admittedly, having being used to just kneeling and "talking" to him in my prayers, the technicalities and not forgetting, the surahs and additional Arabic prayers that comes with it, was rather intimidating at first ... hence my initial approach to prayers with my girls, being a little bit different from the conventional teaching.
I strongly believe that they need to know and feel it in their heart about HIS existence first, so praying is not just an act of solat.
