Scatter More Seeds and Increase
“There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself. People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it. He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him. He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.” (Proverbs 11:24-28 WEB)
In this world, there is a principle at work, and that is the principle of sowing and reaping: every seed sown and watered eventually produces a harvest.
“While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.”” (Genesis 8:22 WEB)
When you give, that is an act of sowing, and it will have an immediate effect of blessing somebody, but it will also produce a harvest for you in due time.
The kind of harvest you reap depends on the type of seed you sow. If you sow a financial seed, you will receive a multiplied harvest of finances.
“Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work. As it is written, “He has scattered abroad, he has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever.” Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness; you being enriched in everything to all liberality, which produces through us thanksgiving to God.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-11 WEB)
Those who sow generously will reap generously. The apostle Paul confirmed this and encouraged believers to give cheerfully knowing that their gifts go on to bless many people, produce thanksgiving to God, and also abounding grace to the giver.
If we constantly receive but do not give, it will breed the love of possessions, and be detrimental to our own well-being. Hoarding, stinginess, and a scarcity mindset will fester in a person who does not give.
When we step out in faith to worship Jesus through tithing our income and giving as led by the Holy Spirit, we sanctify our hearts from the love of money.
It also has the secondary effect of sowing financial seeds to produce a harvest in our future.
When we give, we are actively putting our trust in the Lord and not in riches. Whenever we give, we can pray for the Lord to multiply our seed for sowing.
As God increases your prosperity and enlarges your coast, get excited about being able to sow even more than before.
I once saw a quote by Mark Batterson, “When God blesses you financially, don’t raise your standard of living. Raise your standard of giving.” This is so succinct and wonderfully true. Covet the privilege of being able to give more.
Material possessions in this world are fun and nice comforts and privileges to have, but nothing beats the honor and joy of sowing into God’s kingdom, sponsoring the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and feeding those in need like widows and orphans, especially those in our household of faith. The rewards for these acts of righteousness will remain forever!

Gather Revelations about Jesus Daily!
“This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded: “Gather of it everyone according to his eating; an omer a head, according to the number of your persons, you shall take it, every man for those who are in his tent.” The children of Israel did so, and gathered some more, some less. When they measured it with an omer, he who gathered much had nothing over, and he who gathered little had no lack. They gathered every man according to his eating. Moses said to them, “Let no one leave of it until the morning.” Notwithstanding they didn’t listen to Moses, but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and became foul: and Moses was angry with them. They gathered it morning by morning, everyone according to his eating. When the sun grew hot, it melted.” (8Exodus 16:16-21 WEB)
Manna is the heavenly bread which God fed the children of Israel with in the wilderness. It is a picture of Jesus who is the true Bread of life that comes down from Heaven.
Notice how whether the people gathered much or little each day, they still had enough.
But they could not keep the manna until the morning because it would rot and breed worms.
This is a lesson for us: we have to gather revelations about Jesus in the Scriptures every day.
It doesn’t have to be a lot, but just do it as best as you can.
Even a verse or passage about Jesus to meditate on will be good.
Many believers are gathering revelations about Jesus only on Sundays when they attend services, and they try to survive on that for the rest of the week until the next Sunday.
They are trying to live on spiritual food that has ‘gone foul and bred worms’!
If you don’t have to be told to eat physical food daily, surely you’ll also know that you need fresh spiritual food daily to feed your soul?
The hunger in the soul feels different from hunger in the stomach. It feels like a weariness—a ‘bleh’ feeling that makes it difficult to trudge through each day.
When bad things happen, that soul starvation tends to manifest obviously in outbursts of anger, freaking out and panic.
“If you falter in the time of trouble, your strength is small.” (Proverbs 24:10 WEB)
All this won’t happen so intensely if you’re consistently gathering revelations about Jesus daily.
Remember, whether it’s little or much, gather anyway—you need the nourishment.
Listen to a sermon, read a devotional, read the Bible, listen to worship songs and praise Him, have prayer time. Whatever is your preferred way of feeding, just do it!

The Cure for Chronic Rushing
“It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones.” (Psalms 127:2 WEB)
It’s interesting how when you tell someone that the key to experiencing God’s blessings is through faith in His word, suddenly that person wants to rush to become spiritually mature.
It is good to want to grow in your revelation and understanding of God’s word, but don’t be in a rush.
You just can’t rush growth. It’s like growing a garden of flowers.
You can’t grow it any faster—you have to give it time, and water those plants every day.
You can’t force-feed a child lots of food to make him grow into an adult overnight. He’ll just get very fat.
Your spiritual growth happens by a daily interaction of building your relationship with God through His word.
Thanks to the blazing-fast Internet, we have become a generation of people who want everything to be completed “now”.
Even for the fruit of patience, we want it now. How ironic is that?
God’s word trains us to have patience, to walk with Him and find rest every time we seek solace in the Scriptures.
You get progressively stronger every time you feed on His word.
God’s pace is not hurried. He is not reactionary. He acts from a place of wisdom and being in control of the outcome.
It’s unhurried and yet extremely powerful and effective.
Rushing doesn’t necessarily mean that we get things done faster.
Sometimes your rushing makes things slower from the unnecessary mistakes made.
Rushing compromises on the quality of the final product.
When you find yourself rushing, take a deep breath and seat yourself at Jesus’ feet. Recalibrate the way you live—to act out of rest, rather than out of rush.
Rushing reveals the root of unbelief. You don’t believe that there is enough time, enough supply, and you want to somehow fill that lack by your own strength and striving.
When you see the supply in Christ Jesus provided out of God’s love, you will lose that anxiety and fear causing you to rush.
The answer is always Jesus and what He has accomplished at the cross. In other words, be conscious of God’s proven love for you.
You are loved. God has it under control. There’s no need to rush. Breathe and smile.
