Interview on TEDx HKBU 2016 Speaker - Ms Sharon Cheung
With splendid experiences in the media industry, Sharon Cheung achieves far more than essentials as a journalist with appreciations from various authorities including Journalistic Award Committee of School of Journalism and Commuication of CUHK , JCI City Lady and Chevening. After her graduation from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Oxford, where she was the fellow at Reuter’s Institute, she then served and reported for the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong Cable Television News and Radio Television Hong Kong. Well-known after interviewing speakers from different fields, she enriched herself afterwards through exploring numerous applaudable identities like the senior vice president of media and entertainment conglomerate Media Asia, columnist at HKEJ, published author of East Meets West: a Cultural Diary of Life at Oxford and lecturer at the University of Chinese University of Hong Kong. Ms Sharon is also the founder of her own media strategy company YiJie and she is now expanding her footprint in the art world. Ms Cheung is going to have her first oil painting exhibition at Gallery by Harbour to raise fund for Food Angel in coming November. Besides, there are always no limitations for her to offer the greatest opportunity and support to students with dedications towards their dreams on becoming journalists. Her establishment of the Lion Rock Spirit Fellowship for journalists from Hong Kong to pursue the Reuters Institute's Journalism Fellowship Programme at the University of Oxford demonstrates her active and industrious participation in educating future generations.
張寶華擁有多年傳媒經歷，甚至比起一般傳媒工作者多出許多額外專長。其表現獲得了各界的稱頌，其中包括第一屆中文大學新聞及傳播學院新聞獎，城市女青年商會、英政府「志奮領留英獎學金」等等。畢業於香港中文大學，張寶華亦是牛津大學研究學人，早年曾任職南華早報、有線電線新聞部，香港電台及擔任寰亞傳媒管理層，現時亦是信報專欄作家。經過多次採訪不同界別人士，記者張寶華的知名度日漸提高，憑着豐富的閱歷以及正面評價，創立媒體公司「YiJie」、編寫多本書籍，包括《走看東‧西——在牛津的文化筆記》以及於香港中文大學擔任講師。張寶華近年亦積極向文代界發展，今年１１月，她將會在海港城藝術館舉行她首個慈善油畫展為惜食堂籌款。張寶華同時亦致力提攜有志成為記者的學生後輩，她在去年成立「獅子山精神獎學金」，給予記者機會接受於牛津大學路透社新聞研究中心的專業新聞培訓，由上述事件可見其對新聞工作者的培訓熱誠。
