Năm lớp 10, Lưu Minh Dũng xuất sắc bước vào lớp chuyên Anh, trường Hà Nội - Amsterdam với danh hiệu Thủ khoa đầu vào, song lúc này em chưa có định hướng rõ ràng về việc định hướng du học ở đâu.

Được hòa mình trong môi trường cấp 3 với nhiều hoạt động ngoại khóa tạo điều kiện cho bạn trẻ có ước mơ đi du học, nổi bật nhất là Mỹ, Dũng có mục tiêu cụ thể hơn.

Sau khi tìm hiểu, em cũng cảm thấy Mỹ là lựa chọn hợp lý cho em cả về tài chính và học tập. Lớp 11, Dũng bước vào quá trình nộp hồ sơ vào đại học Mỹ.

Nam sinh Ams từng đoạt giải nhất tiếng Anh cấp thành phố năm 2017, giải nhì tiếng Anh cấp quốc gia năm lớp 11. Em đạt điểm SAT 1560/1600, TOEFL 117/120, SAT II Toán và Hóa đạt điểm tuyệt đối 800/800.

Dũng kể, quá trình nộp hồ sơ của em trải qua vô số khó khăn, thử thách và áp lực khác nhau. Nam sinh nghĩ điều giúp em vượt qua và đạt được kết quả hiện tại là cứ duy nhất kiên trì và tiếp tục làm những thứ mình cần phải làm, luôn có mục tiêu để biết mình cần phải làm gì.

Dũng học giỏi Toán và các môn Tự nhiên, em thích tìm hiểu Lịch sử. Bộ hồ sơ của chàng trai Việt có khá nhiều thế mạnh. Em mô tả bản thân như người toàn diện về các mặt, có nhiều kỹ năng khác nhau.

Dũng là trưởng ban tổ chức Code of Culture 2018, thành viên của ICEP Hanoi Classy, sáng lập viên của Cherrity Project, phó chủ tịch Green Hanoi, trưởng ban tổ chức Green Life 2018…

Mối quan tâm về bảo vệ môi trường và hoạt động văn hóa thống nhất trong bộ hồ sơ của Minh Dũng. Ngoài thành tích học tập và hoạt động ngoại khóa ấn tượng, Dũng có một bài luận thuyết phục giúp em được hội đồng tuyển sinh chú ý.

“Bài luận dài 650 từ. Thay vì nghĩ đến những đề tài đao to búa lớn, em đi sâu vào giá trị bên trong con người đúc kết từ nhiều trải nghiệm”, Dũng chia sẻ.

Thông điệp Dũng muốn truyền tải là: "Chỉ cần kiên trì, cố gắng, thông cảm với người khác, chúng ta có thể tạo ra sự thay đổi tinh thần lớn, đôi khi từ những sự quan tâm nhỏ nhưng chân thành”.

Sự cố gắng kiên trì được đền đáp. Minh Dũng trúng tuyển Đại học Dartmouth (nằm trong khối trường Ivy Leage, top 12 đại học quốc gia tốt nhất Mỹ); Đại học Yale chi nhánh Singapore - National University of Singapore (Yale xếp top 3 đại học quốc gia tốt nhất Mỹ và NUS xếp top 11 thế giới) và Đại học Duke Kunshan – chi nhánh của Đại học Duke ở Trung Quốc (Đại học Duke xếp thứ 8 đại học quốc gia tốt nhất Mỹ) trong đó bạn nhận học bổng toàn phần ĐH Yale - NUS.

Cả 3 trường cấp học bổng khá lớn cho em. Trong đó, Đại học Dartmouth và Đại học Duke Kunshan trợ cấp cho em tài chính 100%.
