Sometimes, a little touch is all it takes.🦷✨
To achieve this result:
In-office whitening • Removal of Old Restoration (Fillings) • Median Diastema (Space) Closure with Composite Restoration
Patient is concerned about the “gap” on her front teeth that has fillings done before. Having ortho treatment out of her preferred options, we have decided to remove her old fillings and replace with new ones after In-Office Whitening has been done.
Free hand composite build-up done with @3moralcaremalaysia 3M Z350XT A3 Enamel shade (My fav go-to composite enamel shade) using the Mylar Pull technique along with @dental2u instruments. Polishing is done with @shofudentalapac One Gloss & Diacomp Eve Twist.
It is common to have composite fillings discolouration after years especially if you’re a big fan of coffee and curry (like me😂Who doesn’t love coffee and curry?!). Periodic polishing of your composite fillings by your dentist can help remove certain stains. After all, maintenance is equally important as the treatment itself. In this case, we wanted to give the centrals a better morphology, therefore we decided to replace the fillings instead of only polishing it.
Have a great weekend y’all!🤗

Frenectomy can look scary right? ?
But in dentistry, labial (“upper lip”) frenum is often reduced to a certain level, because a low labial frenum attachment can cause Median Diastema (Space in between your front teeth). It can also lead to gum diseases (gingivitis) if the position of frenum is so near to the gums and is in the way where your toothbrush should be.
Even if you’ve got your braces done, the chance of Median Diastema relapse is high with a low maxillary frenum attachment. This means that your teeth are “returning back” to their old position before braces, or in this case, the spacing in between the front teeth “comes back” again!
This is because the frenum is constantly “pulling” the tissue in between your teeth when you engage it, for example, when you smile.
A frenectomy is able to help reshape your frenum up to the proper level, thus eliminating the chances of orthodontic relapse and gum diseases. ?
