AIT副處長柯傑民、外交部長吳釗燮、日本台灣交流協會台北事務所代表泉裕泰、美國駐聯合國副大使蒲杰夫（Jeffrey Prescott）及駐紐約台北經濟文化辦事處處長李光章於週三一同參加了全球合作暨訓練架構 (GCTF)「以科技力建構韌性及加速落實永續發展目標」線上國際研討會。自2015年全球合作暨訓練架構啟動以來，這是第一次聚焦探討科技如何能增強韌性並加快實現可持續發展目標的進程。

On Wednesday, AIT Deputy Director Jeremy Cornforth, Foreign Minister Joseph Wu, Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association Chief Representative Hiroyasu Izumi, Deputy to the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Jeff Prescot and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York Director-General James Lee participated in a virtual Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) workshop titled “Building Resilience and Accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Through Technology.” Since the GCTF’s 2015 program launch, this is the first event to focus on how technology can bolster resilience and accelerate progress towards meeting the SDGs.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Director Cornforth said, “Although Taiwan is prevented from participating meaningfully in the World Health Assembly and many other international organizations, today’s event will highlight the many ways that Taiwan is sharing its expertise and using its technological prowess to help the international community solve shared challenges. The United States remains committed to expanding Taiwan’s international space.”

【vGCTF：強化全球及各國防災韌性】

AIT處長孫曉雅今天偕同科技部部長吳政忠、外交部次長曾厚仁、日本台灣交流協會代表泉裕泰、英國在台辦事處代表鄧元翰，以及澳洲辦事處代表露珍怡共同參加全球合作暨訓練架構線上國際研討會(vGCTF)「強化全球及各國防災韌性」。

AIT處長孫曉雅於開幕致詞中強調：「在救災與災害應變的議題上，美國會致力與我們的夥伴攜手合作。在英國康瓦爾舉行的七國峰會（G7）中，拜登總統與合作夥伴一同宣布了他們對全球基礎建設發展的一致願景，並共同推出了『重建更好世界』（Build Back Better World）倡議。『重建更好世界』是一項價值導向、高標準、透明的基礎建設夥伴關係，目的在動員基礎建設投資，將其導入中低收入國家，以支持這些地方各項基礎建設的永續發展，包括氣候、衛生與衛生安全、科技、及兩性公平與性別平等等領域。這些都是缺一不可的關鍵要素，能夠大大增進各社會與經濟體的防災韌性。」

Today, AIT Director Sandra Oudkirk, Minister of Science and Technology Wu Tsung-Tsong, Deputy Foreign Minister Tseng Ho-jen, Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association Chief Representative Hiroyasu Izumi, British Office Representative John Dennis, and Australia Office Representative Jennifer Bloomfield participated in a virtual Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) workshop titled “Building Disaster Resilience at Global and National Levels.” In her opening remarks, Director Oudkirk highlighted, “The United States is committed to working with partners on disaster relief and response. At the G7 meeting in Cornwall, President Biden and partners announced a unified vision for global infrastructure development and introduced the Build Back Better World initiative. Build Back Better World is a value-driven, high-standard, and transparent infrastructure partnership aimed at mobilizing infrastructure investments in low- and middle-income countries to support sustainable infrastructure development in the areas of climate, health and health security, technology, and gender equity and equality.”

Perjumpaan pertama telah diadakan hari ini untuk Special Task Force Covid-19 di peringkat negeri Johor. Turut hadir bersama YAB Dato’ Haji Hasni bin Mohammad, Menteri Besar Johor, YB Dato’ Haji Azmi bin Rohani, Setiausaha Kerajaan Johor, YB Dato’ Haji Mohd Noh Bin Ibrahim, Timbalan Setiausaha Kerajaan Johor (Pengurusan), YB Tuan Vidyananthan A/L Ramanadhan, EXCO Kesihatan dan Alam Sekitar, YB Dato’ Dr. Aman bin Rabu, Pengarah Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Johor dan pakar-pakar kesihatan dan pengurusan pandemik.

Special Task Force Covid-19 berperanan untuk memantau dan memperbaiki proses yang digunakan bagi sistem menyaring, mengasingkan, mengawasi, dan merawat pesakit Covid-19 agar keadaan wabak adalah sentiasa dalam kawalan. Pengesanan kontak perlu dipercepatkan supaya ia dilakukan dalam jangka masa 24 hingga 48 jam, dan kadar vaksinasi juga perlu dipertingkatkan.

Johor perlu bersedia untuk transisi dari situasi pandemik kepada endemik. Saya yakin dengan para anggota Task Force ini yang dipilih secara inklusif dan melibatkan pelbagai agensi kerajaan, pakar-pakar dari universiti, swasta, ATM, dan NGO, Johor akan dapat melawan wabak Covid-19 dengan lebih berkesan dan kes positif akan mula menurun melalui langkah kesihatan awam yang efektif dan penggunaan teknologi terkini.

The first meeting for the Special Task Force Covid-19 at the Johor state level was held today. Also present were Menteri Besar of Johor YAB Dato' Haji Hasni bin Mohammad, Johor State Secretary YB Dato' Haji Azmi bin Rohani, Johor Deputy State Secretary (Management) YB Dato' Haji Mohd Noh Bin Ibrahim, Health and Environment EXCO YB Tuan Vidyananthan A/L Ramanadhan, Johor Health Department Director YB Dato' Dr. Aman bin Rabu as well as health and pandemic management experts.

The Covid-19 Special Task Force will monitor and improve processes used for the screening, isolating, monitoring and treating system of Covid-19 patients to ensure the outbreak's situation is always under control. Contact tracing needs to be accelerated so that it is done within 24 to 48 hours, and vaccination rates must also be increased.

Johor needs to be prepared for the transition from a pandemic to an endemic. I am confident that the selected members of this Task Force, which are inclusive and involving various government agencies, experts from universities, private sectors, Malaysian Armed Forces, and NGOs in Johor, will be able to fight the Covid-19 pandemic more effectively and positive cases will begin to decline through effective public health measures and the use of the latest technology.

Anthem is an online multiplayer action role-playing video game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 22, 2019.

Set on an unnamed planet, players assume the role of a Freelancer: heroic adventurers who wear powerful exosuits to defend humanity from the threats beyond their cities' walls. The game's title refers to the Anthem of Creation, a powerful and mysterious force responsible for most of the extraordinary technology, phenomena, and threats in the world. In the main narrative, the player's Freelancer is tasked with stopping a villain named The Monitor from seizing control of the Anthem.

Anthem received mixed reviews from critics, who criticized it for its grind, technical aspects, and story, contributing to an experience that felt repetitive and shallow, although its combat, flight controls, and visuals received some praise.

Anthem combines third-person shooter and action role-playing game elements in a "contiguous open world" shared with up to three other players in which they take the role of a Freelancer donning fully customizable exosuits called Javelins. These suits can be customized to have various unique weapons and superhuman abilities. Two classes of Javelins were shown during Anthem's presentation at Microsoft's E3 2017 Conference: the Ranger, which is an all-around and balanced Javelin, and the Colossus, which is a larger and more heavily armored Javelin made to fill in more of a tanking role. Other Javelins include the Storm, which uses powerful technology to unleash the "rage of the hymn" while floating effortlessly in the air, and the Interceptor, which is focused on close-quarter combat and can move quickly into and out of combat.

Players can build relationships with various non-playable characters, but they cannot establish romantic relationships with them, as was a trademark of previous BioWare games. The central meeting point of the game takes place in Fort Tarsis, the central stronghold of Anthem. Built by the eponymous General Helena Tarsis, it serves as a fortified settlement against the threats of the outside world and is also the point where the player goes to receive new missions and freelance assignments. It is a melting pot where all the different factions of the game meet, including the Sentinels, Corvus, Cyphers, and Arcanists.

The game features both single-player and co-operative multiplayer elements in a "shared world" that can have up to four squad members per team. Teams can fight savage beasts and ruthless marauders while exploring lost ruins and experiencing massive, world-altering terrain occurrences, such as "Shaper Storms".
