The most satisfying bowl of Vietnamese Pho in recent years, from a young couple only offer private dinner service. Dishes are cooked with skills , ideas & heart. Pho on the menu is particularly fond of us , it’s simply outstanding! The broth looks thick but actually the flavour is clean , with intense sweetness from beef bones, and the spices in the broth is a delicate handling of balanced combination. Generous amount of fresh herbs are prepared (as usual) , however , what surprised us a lot is the deep fried shredded banana flowers , it enhanced the flavour to another level after adding to the pho!!! Act like a secret weapon completely !!!
Lastly : raw beef is Korean beef prepared by the host —— rich meat flavour & soft-velvety texture , which made this a perfect bowl of Pho.

近年吃過最滿意的一碗越式牛河，出自一對年輕夫婦主理的越南菜私宴，他們只做上門到會，許多菜式做得巧手有想法，牛河相當出色，湯頭看似濃厚，其實味道非常清甜、裡頭的香料味均衡細緻！配料方面當然少不了常規的大量各式香草，更上一層樓的是還凖備了大量炸過的切絲香蕉花，加入牛河一起吃，香氣四溢，更添美味！最後必須一提：生牛肉片是主人家自備的韓牛，牛味濃郁肉質軟滑，就這樣成就了一碗完美的牛河，吃罷幸福感油然而生。

Pho 10 is one the Famous Pho Restaurant in Hanoi that was heavily advertised and reviewed by many and that said! How can we not pay a visit to this highly raved Pho Establishment right?!.

They don’t have an extensive menu! Just simply PHO with different doneness of the beef and canned drinks, that’s about it! And Since it’s our first visit, We’ve got the special bowl [65000 VND] which is around 4 SGD and the mixture of beef tasted so fresh and Succulent! Broth was really, Clear and light and tasty and it goes pretty well with the added on- enhanced flavour from the spring onions and parsley!.

There are quite a lot of Vietnamese immigrants in Taiwan, so you can easily find authentic Vietnamese food here as well. However, the menu and its taste is quite different from the ones in Canada.

There’s only one type of beef in each Pho, they are tender ~~

The Pho broth looks thinner compare the ones in Canada, it has strong taste, you can see and taste the real aromatics in each bowl, like lemongrass, onions, Bay leaves, lemon… I would say it’s a rich savory broth, I liked it !!😋

We went down to Mrs Pho to demolish a MASSIVE 6KG (13LB) PHO CHALLENGE! Mrs Pho, located at 313@somerset, serves authentic Vietnamese cuisine and specialises in its namesake, pho. The chef, a feisty Vietnam native, offered us a mega version of her special menu item, Premium Short Ribs Pho. Only offered at Mrs Pho’s Somerset outlet and created by the chef herself, the bowl comes with your usual pho toppings of beef balls and sliced beef but with the addition of a hefty piece of short rib that was sous vide-ed for 36 hours.

With over 5 portions of noodles, 3-4 servings of meat and a bucketful of broth, the bowl came up to a whopping 6KG. I began with the star of the pho, the short rib, and it really was the best part. Succulently tender and meaty together with a hit of umami from being submerged in the pho broth. Adding on the available chilli sauce helped to bring out a different dimension to the short rib.

The broth itself was not as strong as I had expected, actually being mild yet not bland. It served as a good base for you to craft the bowl to your own liking and to bring out the flavours of the toppings. You can add chilli for more spiciness, fish sauce for greater saltiness and Vietnamese-style brown sauce (tasted sort of like marmite) for an umami kick.

I especially enjoyed the noodles, which had bite to them and soaked up the broth beautifully. The beef balls were excellent as well, firm and bouncy. They also serve a special in-house chilli sauce that was devilishly spicy. I could not handle it but I am sure most of you would enjoy it immensely.

This was a pleasurable challenge that I completed in under 30 minutes, which is decent for a massive 6KG bowl of pho. Mrs Pho’s Somerset outlet is newly opened and located right at the entrance to the MRT station in the building. Massive queues are common on weekends (a testament to their excellent food) so be sure to plan adequately for your visit to Mrs Pho!
