Veteran rock band Coldplay was also nominated in the category, a surprise given the lack of buzz in the run-up to the nominations. And the only rapper recognized for the top award is Post Malone, who straddles the fence with pop music. Other nominees in this category include pop star Dua Lipa—considered a major contender—Taylor Swift and rock sister-trio Haim. Beyoncé, who leads the pack with nine nominations overall, is the most nominated female artist in Grammy history.

In perhaps the biggest upset this year, R&B-pop crooner The Weeknd was shut out of all award nominations. The Canadian superstar was considered a frontrunner by many in the music business, having released one of 2020’s most successful and praised albums, “After Hours.” (The Weeknd is also playing next year’s Super Bowl.) On Monday, “Blinding Lights,” one of The Weeknd’s recent songs, became the longest-running Top-Ten hit in the 62-year history of Billboard’s singles chart.
On Tuesday evening, The Weeknd criticized his Grammy shut-out on Twitter. “The Grammys remain corrupt,” he said. “You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency.”
In response, the Recording Academy’s interim CEO and President, Harvey Mason Jr., said it was an “unusual and competitive year.”
“We understand that The Weeknd is disappointed... I was surprised and can empathize,” Mr. Mason Jr. said. He also addressed speculation that The Weeknd was asked to pick between performing at the Super Bowl and the Grammys. “Voting in all categories ended well before The Weeknd’s performance at the Super Bowl was announced, so in no way could it have affected the nomination process,” Mr. Mason Jr. said.

英國女歌手 Bat for Lashes 闊別 3 年的新作《Lost Girls》可說是食正近年流行的懷舊熱潮，就像 Netflix 電視劇《怪奇物語》（Stranger Things）那樣，佈滿 80 年代色彩。她在外媒訪問中提到，新碟的靈感來自 80 年代的流行曲如 Cyndi Lauper、Bananarama 的作品，以及 John Williams 的電影配樂，於是《Lost Girls》當中，歌曲都是充滿 Synth-pop 氣息，電子元素特別豐富，而且著重氣氛營造，聽起來都很有畫面，向她喜愛的 80 年代科幻、奇幻電影致敬。

British female singer, Bat for Lashes is set to release her latest work “Lost Girls” after 3 years of break. Just like the Netflix drama, “Stranger Things”, “Lost Girls” is full of the features of the 80s. Bat for Lashes mentions her ideas refer to the works of Cyndi Lauper, Bananarama and John Williams's movie soundtrack. This makes her songs full of Synth-Pop and electronic elements and shows her respect for the 80s Sci-fi movies.

We went up to random people in NYC's Times Square and asked who they thought the most beautiful female K-pop idol was, from many different groups! They picked from a list that included the amazing and wonderful Bae Suzy, Jihyo of TWICE, Irene of Red Velvet, Jennie from BLACKPINK, Taeyeon from SNSD Girls' Generation, and IU!
